who? you can't have Calipari or Pitino.

give us someone up and coming without any national champ rings.

Why does it have to be either someone up and coming or one of the most successful coaches in CBB history? Scott Drew would be a hell of splash. I just want us to shoot high amd don't want us to go after a mid-major retread who has had some success but never left MTSU for 15 years.

At one point there was serious smoke that Buzz had been hired by Alleva. The reports turned out to be false, and then came the disappointing news about Jones.

I've always liked Musselmann but i feel like it's a sliding double when we need to at least get to third base. (lol Alleva)

I remember when I was certain the football team was going to have a home run hire and we ended up with a reached base by catcher's interference.

Kermit should be the fall back, although if you have Musselman ahead of him you shouldn't fall back that far. Both would take the job without question.

I would go for Drew or Prohm or someone to make the elusive "splash" and then fall back to Musselman or Kermit.

Do you think the beans counter would pay Drew $3+ mil to get his service? Not a chance in hell.

"I wish we had the balls to try and make a splash"

You mean like did in football???

How bout we just get someone who can LSU basketball to the dance on occasion? With the way things have gone, that would a splash for me.

If we want to build a bigtime program, Scott Drew would be the best bet. But he already makes $2.7 million at Baylor. LSU would have to pay him over $3 million to have a shot at getting him. That would be fine with me, but Alleva's direction from the BOS is to go cheap on as much as possible. I cannot see LSUAD paying even a flat $3 million for a HC. LSU didn't want to pay even $1.5 million last time and that is the main reason we got JJ.

If we hire Kermit, I'll fully support the anti-Allevas.

I'm fine with the other 2.

Scott Drew is the only hire that would sell tickets. While the other hires could be gotten for the cheap it doesn't necessarily mean that they will provide the best value. P-Mac being full is what Alleva wants. Season tickets is what Alleva wants. A reason to raise ticket prices is what Alleva wants. If he believes Drew can come in and over time allow Alleva to get more money out the fanbase I most certainly see him going after Drew.

Probably the biggest sticking point with Drew, as it is for many coaches on this list, is his salary. He currently makes $2.8 million a year at Baylor, and is signed into a ten-year deal that runs through the end of the 2018-19 season. His buyout would be large and the annual salary would have to be even larger

I don't see us doing this

I worry about longevity with the guy. He's been with 16 different teams since 1990 and none of his stops were longer than 4 years. I don't know whether he keeps job hopping because he succeeds up or because he fails sideways, but either way, he doesn't seem likely to bring long-term stability to the program.

Scott Drew gets 2.7 million at Baylor. Is LSU going to pay 3 million to get him.

I don't even know what to say

A Brady-era retread that has had some success at a mid-major. Just terribly underwhelming.

Alleva's getting better though. At least with KDJ he's hiring a retread from a more recent era who actually won the sunbelt before.

Was once part of the program. It's petty but I want a complete overhaul.

Mainly:
Little recruiting experience
1 stint longer than 2 years
Not a huge fan of nevadas style
We can do much better and it would feel like we are settling again. I don't see him as an exciting hire.
