Not much translation from NBA game to the college game.

So do alot of coaches... as a matter of fact around 65 of them do.
I guess my definition of a slam dunk (100% certain) is different than yours.

This looks to be an unappealing year to hire a coach. I'd be fine with Musselman. With the point the program is at I'm not concerned about a Pac12 school hiring him if he's successful for a few years.

If Alleva would open up the check book we could hire a big name coach.... period. And I'm talking like 3-4 mil a year. And winning would pay for that easily.

What coach worth 3-4 mil would come to a complete rebuilding job when they probably have a nice job as it is if it would take 3-4 mil to pull him away.

We need to express a commitment beyond this hire, in terms of program support (premium budgets for staffing, promotion and recruiting) and a new venue: Maravich Court at the O'Neal Pavillion, otherwise known as the Love Shaq.
While you're at it, add the new upper deck, corporate and tailgate suites and food court to the north end of TS, and establish a grand plaza tying together Mike's Habitat, North Stadium and the Love Shaq, providing a suitable setting to accomodate spectating for the processions of the team and the band down "the Hill".
I'll bet Donovan would come to BR, given that level of commitment...

Well as a matter of fact out of the three major North American sports basketball translates closest from college to pro than any of the others. Plus coaches with NBA ties have more success recruiting than other coaches. And Nevada's record the three years combined before he got there was 36-58 he's gone 52-20 in his first 2 years so he's done a great job there. He's as close to a slam dunk as LSU can hope to get.

Have not heard this name mentioned why not take a shot on Richard Pitino at Minnesota I think that would be a really good hire for LSU

I totally agree on Richard Pitino.
He's young.
I bet he could recruit well here.
His current Minnesota squad is sooo damn well coached

I would be down with little Ricky.

I don't know about Pitino. Good pedigree, but he was on the verge of being fired before this season. The Big 10 was a bit down this season. Several good/average teams, but no real powerhouses like they've had in previous years.
He plays Kermit Davis in round 1, so we'll get to see two potential candidates head to head

One game in the tournament won't necessarily identify who is better than the other.

Oh, is this a fact? That "fact" is certainly debatable.
The NBA game relies heavily on pick and rolls and is for the most part a make or miss league (until the playoffs). Coaches get paid for helping with roster assessment, substitution decisions, and managing egos. College ball is more about off ball movement and defense.... oh and they play zone defense in college. Like I said, there's not much translation.

You must not watch much of either. How many 18 year olds are great in the NFL or the MLB? The NFL isn't even stupid enough to let kids that young play because they couldn't hack it. It takes so much more exp to translate from college to the NFL and MLB. How about baseball any 18 year olds making all star games? Basketball translates from high school to the Pro game better than the other two do from college that's how big the difference is. Btw the NBA has zone defenses too guy, it's not 1985 ya know. And every high scoring college team runs the high pick and roll just like the NBA. You might wanna watch a couple games.
