WTF??? LSU is ranked number one in the system.

Anything can happen with these polls, but this week's polls seem pretty clear.

Unless there is a clear effort to put Bama number 3 AND Okie St wins, I don't see how it's possible. Stanford is in the clubhouse and have gotten some pretty solid rankings. The West coast would really have to hate being in more than respect for Stanford to put Okie St ahead of the Cardinal.

It would probably take a lot of these types of ballots:
LSU, Stanford, Okie St, Bama
and
LSU, Okie St, Bama, Stanford

LMB.....you make a fair point. The two loss season in 2007 it was amazing how the stars lined up for LSU!

You might make the same statement if OSU were undefeated. In other words that argument is overly simplistic.

Who are the best two teams?

Rod Gilmore has my vote for the most intelligent and fair out of the group.

I don't get how we get "rewarded" to play Bama again while we beat them head to head, in their house.

They had their shot, they lost.

I'm not saying they aren't a great team. That's not what I'm saying at all.

We beat them, period. We move on and play in the SEC CG, Bama sits at home and they're awarded a free pass to the BCS CG against a team that A. Won it's division. B. Won it's conference. C. Beat them already on the road.

Just to anoint them to the BCS CG would be the epitome of unfairness. The BCS has it's shortcomings to be sure but that would be beyond absurd.

In '07 i thought we were one of the two best teams despite several teams also having two losses, (Ohio State and Kansas had 1 loss and Hawaii was unbeaten). The BCS got it right then, and i think they'll get it right if they put LSU and Alabama in.

No it's not. U of H is undefeated. No one is considering them because everyone agrees that they are not on the level with several one loss teams.

Who are the two best teams. That is the question. We all know the answer. It's LSU and Alabama.

The polls are right. This is what the title game should be. LSU fans are really embarrassing themselves getting all riled up and griping.

Something to consider, do you all REALLY want to deal with the fallout from Bama and the talking heads if Bama is left out? Do you want there to be doubt as to whether or not the "best team" actually won the title? Let's just play them again...on our turf...and beat them. Quit the whining. If we're truly the best, we'll win.

actually many thought that Georgia was better than LSU at the end of the year, but bumped LSU because they won the conference, and in the process beat a team that beat Georgia earlier in the year. This is not really a pro-Bama argument.

if you pose this question to the voters regarding Bama vs. LSU, I'm sure many would say Bama...why isn't Bama receiving #1 votes

Because we beat them head to head

Let's get something straight, if Bama DOESN'T end up going, they'll have nobody to blame but themselves (and their kicker).

his point is if Ok State was undefeated most would still consider LSU and Bama the two best teams...but there's no way Bama would jump Ok State to play LSU again. The system isn't simply "who do people think are the 2 best teams".

After watching Ok. State and Bama this year, can anyone actually say they believe that the Cowboys are a better team?? Fans just need to accept it's the system we have and human voters can easily see who the best two teams are, and will vote that way.

Life is unfair. They are the second best team. By rule, they go.

You are asking the wrong question. The question should be who is the #1 team...and setting up a game to determine that.

We already know through an objective measure (the scoreboard) that LSU is better than Alabama. We don't know that about OSU.

Because some years there's only 1 great team, and they still have to play somebody.

I'm sorrry but the argument that there would be any question as to who the best team is jig Bama is left out just doesn't hold water! We beat them, at their house..if they get bumped then they can only blame themselves for not winning on Nov 5th

they aren't. They got beat by a poor Iowa St. team.
