Didn’t a study just come out that said LSU FB generated $200 mill worth of free advertising?
Wouldn’t that benefit this scumbag? Getting your brand out there and attracting a higher quality student. Not to mention, I’m willing to bet there is also a positive correlation of donations to the academic side while the sports programs are doing well.

If players choose not to take advantage of that compensation and get an education, that’s on them.
That said, I think there should be some monetary payment for these players, but to say they are not compensated is just false.
Not only all of this but what people fail to mention is that the school is not the reason the players aren’t paid. If it was up to the school they would compensate the players however they could.
People always want to say the school does x, in which x is usually something that is directly beneficial for the players, and say they can do that but the players aren’t getting paid. They make it school vs. player when it’s NCAA vs. player and the school is doing what they can to help the player.

I wonder if he drinks milk with his peanut butter and jealous sandwich. He was mad when LSU bought the “young black men” shiny toys before football season and now the coach gets a raise and the players are taken advantage of.

If I'm not mistaken, the athletic salaries are paid for by the Athletic Department which is one of the few schools in the country that is self sufficient. So if that is true, Mr. Mann needs to take his complaint up with the politicians and not complain about LSU paying Coach O the money of a National Champion. As far as uncompensated athletes, they do get school paid. So that in and of itself is payment.
