Once I saw him on the field I knew the timely calls and subsequent no calls would come eventually.
Look at the stats and it looks fairly even with the penalties but the timely fashion in which they came and the timely fashion in which they did not come were to be expected.
It all boiled down to one event the personal foul after the turnover. Everything before and after that one thing was the whole setup for an Alabama victory.
You can poo poo this point all you want but anyone in their right mind knows this is the main thing that contributed to LSU ' S loss.
Screw the incomplete passes. Screw the short yardage on runs.
If that call had not happened you're looking at a LSU victory. No doubt

Seems like I've heard this argument before about Florida, Auburn, Bama, etc. , albeit with different crews. Sucks that the SEC hates LSU so much. I wonder what the school ever did to deserve it.

I was in the stadium so my view from the 25 yard line wasn't that great. I don't care about that call. I care about the non offsetting penalties on the Personal foul call.

I honestly don't believe they're anti LSU. I know they're pro Alabama. No matter if it's Alabama or Auburn when they play us

LSU was going to score a TD, Miles was in a gambling mood, he would have went for it if they fell short on 3rd down. And LSU players were pushing the pile, which is legal. It was a guaranteed TD.

I will never understand why conferences are allowed to have their own refs. Its a situation that's ripe for corruption.

Refs should be managed and sanctioned by the NCAA, chosen randomly for the games across the country and the crew for the game being a state secret to everybody outside NCAA higher ups until kickoff. And refs should not be allowed to call games for their alma mater.

I know all the background b of Ritter and his family. The SEC is a damn joke with him as a head official. And everyone except for Alabama fans know this. Alabama fan gives zero shits about how they achieve victory just as long as they don't have to drive home with their heads held down because of a defeat

I was at the game and listened to Hawthorn on radio. He said ball crossed the goal line (in air) on punt and that's why it was called a Touchback. It sounded as if he was being relayed information.

Correct or not?

At any rate, why wasn't this reviewed? Aren't all collage football plays supposedly reviewed?

Saw the replay on CBS, it clearly did not cross the goal line. Ref within a few yds didn't signal anything, the ref much farther way made bad the call.

the replay on TV was a goal line shot

It was 12 -18 inches short of the goal line. The ref that called it was out side the pylon on the sideline. the ref 3 yards away and on the goal line did. Not call it.

I said to my brother at that point the fix was in. he thought I was crazy until they threw unsportsmanlike to give Bama life.

I think the rest of the conference saw the officiating
I hope the rest of the country does

Bama has been cheating ever since I can remember
It's nothing new really

I totally agree that the NCAA should take control of the refs. LSU has paid dearly due to the corruption in the SEC office and their officiating. I'm so disgusted with all of them.

I'm not one to bitch about refs, but these guys really did suck.

-On Dupre's TD, he had two feet in and clearly got face-masked and they missed both. How is that possible when that is the only person you're looking at as refs when the ball is in the air?

-Two flags were thrown and picked up because there were "no flags" on the play. Okay.

-Bama's player was intentionally mooned by our player and Jennings face mask was ripped off on the same play - they apparently missed both.

-The ball was downed at the one and called a touchback.

-Sideline warning to Bama's coaches for being on the field and then no real penalty when that one dude was way out on the field as the play was going on over and over. The other Bama coach kept having to shove him to the sidelines.

-And then the personal foul being called when just about every person on both teams was pushing each other. They blew the whistle and the Bama guy was pulling on Alexander's leg from the back for no apparent reason with the ref staring at him and all Alexander did was turn around and push the guy off of him. It was complete bullsh*t and messed up everything for how LSU wanted to proceed. Joke of a call.

For the first time since I've watched CBS even Danielson last night was baffled at how bad the officiating crew was. You could tell he felt bad for LSU because of the shitty calls in the last few minutes.. the personal foul he was straight up on the side of there should've been either a no-call or an offsetting call at the least; and even the last play of OT even though he was trying to be non-biased you could tell he thought there was defensive interference.
