The real story here is that Buddy Songy is alive and, even more unbelievable, breaking news stories.

RIP coach. I'll always wonder what the 2011 offense would've looked like w/ Coach Kragthorpe as the OC. His illness was discovered at a point in the preseason that prevented being able to get another OC. OL Coach Greg Studwara did a credible job as OC, but I'll always wonder, nevertheless.

Damnit. I knew Coach and wanted to text him last week to check on him. Kicking myself for getting side tracked and not hitting send now even if he couldn’t have responded.
RIP Coach

My sons would see him at the gym in Morgan City. One just told me he talked to coach for a little bit 2-3 weeks ago. Always checking up on the kids going to LSU.

And frick the Aggies who defended that pos and called Coach Krags a liar. Karma is a bitch.

So studrawa was never supposed to be the coordinator in 2011?

No, Kragthorpe was hired as OC but was diagnosed with Parkinson’s during training camp. Stud took over but used Steve’s playbook (it was really Miles’ offense)

Shared lots of stories with him about the Tigers and his son coaching with the Bengals. That man loved life, loved his family, and loved football. Will be missed, but thankful for the many conversations I was able to share with him!

Correct. Kragthorpe was also the QB coach so his illness also meant the QB's didn't really have a position coach in 2011.

Prayers and condolences to his family.
Probably would have never happened with Miles strangling every one of his OC’s. But I was legitimately excited listening to one of Kragthorpe’s speeches he gave at some coaches clinic prior to coming to us. Very articulate and attention to details in his explanation on plays and designs. Sad he never got that chance here. RIP Coach!
