That's AWESOME!! The wife of a friend of mine makes cakes like that. She's AMAZING with that stuff.

I hope it was for a good cause.

If she is amazing at it, mind emailing me her information. I need a badass grooms cake.

There is a place called Cake Goddess on the corner of Highland and Old jefferson that does amazing cakes. There are delicious and really beautiful. She has a website. They did my sons cake for his birthday. It was an LSU football field with a tiger in the middle of the field.

I helped delivery a tiger stadium grooms cake three weekends ago that cost $850. It wasn't all that impressive, but lots of labor went into it.

The groom must have had bank because he called LSU and inquired about having part of the band come down to N.O. and march through the reception. Word is they were asking for a $10K donation and he wanted to do it, but his wife shot him down.

Some people have more money than sense.

My wife's cousin got married in N.O. a few years ago and her husband had some friends in the band. When they walked out the church to board their private street car on St. Charles Ave. There were a bunch of guys sitting in the back that greeted them with Pregame. It was bad arse.

Gambino in Baton Rouge and Lafayette does a stadium cake with the upper sections, lights, Eye of the Tiger, outside arct.
Had one for son's wedding 2 years ago and the small was $300 and large $1000. The small would feed about 200 people.

Not sure if she doesn't do it just for friends and family. She only charges for materials - not labor. The cakes she makes are phenomenal and she could charge a whole lot more for them.

I'll see if she wants to do it.

this cake is a beautiful masterpiece.. of course 3000 is a ton on money.. but its charity right?? so that's really better than just giving away 3000..
