He might as well have written "ROB ME" on the side of the truck. Sorry about the loss of the rings though. No telling the kind of stories the thief is telling about the rings.

Hes young with alot of money. He'll learn from his mistakes like everyone else does.

Some of the comments on that article are quite brutal. It also shows how quick people will judge you without knowing anything about you.

He earned his money the old fashioned way, working for it. I can respect that. As far as spending it on $15,000 rims and tires, afterall it was HIS money. Keeping his rings in the vehicle is odd, unless he's like rambling Rose. The percieved need for a shotgun tells me the bigger story of life from the streets and maybe still on the streets. The NFL program for rookies doesn't sound like it's all it's cracked up to be. Simply going through the motions? The freedom to pursue happiness is what this country is about. You would think someone from a humble background would appreciate and value ample means more instead of less. But, then again, there are those that sacrifice family and friends to accumulate wealth only to value their life's work all the more. Then, in the blink of an eye, the children are grown and he/she hardly knows them, with a memory void of warm heartfelt connection. In the short blink of another eye their Washington Mutual Stock becomes worthless and their lifes work is gone. To each their own. Don't value what rusts and rots, value the intangibles. I hope he had a good time that night!

I know that it is more of a risk for you to get jacked out of your rims, especially if they are as huge as he has 30" damn lol. I see no reason why people would blame him for buying what he wants though. Guys get old muscle cars and spend 15-20gs on the performance, but nobody is gonna jack you for a 454 maxed out. I really don't see why he has his rings in his car but if I don't live in that complex, aint no way in hell i'm leaving my car there overnight.

Well I guess you never came from dirt poor surroundings to living comfortably overnight in your early 20s. Young people buy dumb shite. He'll mature eventually

Unfortunately for Murphy, the 30-inch DUB rims and tires, valued at $15,000, weren't the only things missing, according to the report. Among other items stolen were his 2008 LSU National Championship ring, 2006 Sugar Bowl ring and 2008 SEC championship ring.

I'm thinking the article only mentioned the unique/ easily-recognizable, personalized items with value. A bunch of clothes, shaving kit or whatnot aren't the type of things that tend to show up at a pawn shop, neighborhood We Buy Gold racket or up for sale on Ebay/Craigslist.

If I was the proud owner of these rings, I don't think they would be in my truck.

They are saying it, but sarcastically and with humor. Unfortunately you didn't get it.

He's in the 2nd year of a 3yr/$1,385,000 deal. His cap figure this season is $390K. I'm pretty sure he negotiated himself a good deal while he was on IR last year - Easily 6 figures. I think he can afford the rims.

ETA:

Another site shows him at $465K for this season, but I think that was prior to going on IR and getting restructured.

I don't think his injury last season was as severe as it would seem on the surface. I think they "stashed" him on IR because they liked what they saw in pre-season and knew he'd have a cap-friendly salary for a RB - A position where they value depth (especially as this season approached, knowing there would likely be MJD shenanigans).

JHC, they're giving UDFA 3 year deals worth that much now?

There's tasteful looking bigger wheels, then there's obnoxious ones. But, it's also a cultural thing...
