Yep feel like Neal will be fine if he can stay healthy.

The fact that Kling was the #19th ranked player, which undoubtedly had a major hand in the class ranking and has not lived up to his ranking should answer whether there are questions about the individual player rankings.

Also, how can you saw Guidry has a role, but not say Kling also has a role. It's more limited as more of a pinch runner and defensive fielder; but similar could be said with Guidry's role as a reliver.

He missed on Kling. Every other top program would have taken and subsequently missed on Kling also.
Noot and Shores injured.
Neal is very young. A healthy Neal will be a solid SEC catcher with pop.

Sometimes people peak early and that’s hard to determine. Some also need more time. Some may just be misses. Jay hasn’t had good success on pure luck. The guy knows what he is doing

Nolan Cain for most of them. A bunch of these guys were committed well before JJ was hired.

Evaluation of high school players is much harder than football or basketball.

When analyzing a recruiting class, consider that only 4 years ago, Paul Skenes was the number 400 prospect and number 35 CATCHER.

Too early to tell. It's easy to be negative after a big loss, but they came close really close to making it to a super regional, which is pretty impressive.

They may not have been in the Game 3 starting lineup against Florida, but I count 6 guys who made significant contributions to a National Championship team as true freshmen. Nobody needs to apologize for that. Ever. But especially less than a year later. Thread fricking sucks.

Rankings in all sports are a crap shoot and often top classes don’t produce the expected result. Also, kids get over rated often based on who is recruiting them.

Amen. Anyone who takes them as gospel is a fool. It's a data point based on a group of "evaluators" opinions and nothing more. These rankings are not the end all/ be all.

As an example, would you want the Tarheel's third baseman, Gavin Gallaher as a Tiger for the next two years?

The kid is a human vacuum cleaner and a tough out with the bat in his hands.

Perfect Game had him listed as #149 nationally and #39 SS. Gallaher Bio from official UNC baseball website Gallaher Perfect Game profile

King is a good to great CF. His bat let him down this year.

They really need to flatten out Kling's swing and convince him that he is not a power hitter (always looks like he is swing for the fences). This kid should be spraying line-drives to all fields and using his speed as a table-setter for the offense. Kling needs to work on hitting the ball to the right side and his strike zone awareness and pitch recognition needs a lot of work.

11 of the 16 teams left finished in the top 32 by recruit avg.

Half the remaining field finished top 25 overall in recruiting in 2022

The hype on that LSU recruiting class was way over the top
