I know it doesn't seem like it, but that was almost 20 years ago. Game is faster, kids are bigger and stronger. Not that there wasn't risk back then but one launch at the knees today and it's game over.

Did he have other issues with fumbling besides the UF game? Honestly don't recall

I don't think so, but then I honestly don't remember and also don't think he returned a lot...but hell he could have done it all year...it's just that Florida stands out, and I don't remember any highlight returns by him.

Drake Davis will be returning kicks. I'm not sure about punts.

This area has actually been a huge concern for the last couple of years. I haven't been confident in anyone back there since OBJ.

NO, but that is just my opinion. Too many other guys on this team with skills to risk your bell cow.

I'd like to see Derrick Dillon return punts

Why? I get it that he is fast and was a high school star. But we haven't heard one thing since he has been at LSU to indicate that he will be anything more than a camp body.

I know a lot of people think it's dumb to have such a valuable guy back there on KO but I think they still roll with guice
I see the return game as valuable enough to use your most valuable offensive players.

Just taking the #25 team on punt & KO returns and you have a combined 70.4 yds/gm and .15 TDs/gm (avg 4 ret a game). That's an extra offensive drive. And that's not even counting the value of field position. Just in yards, it is worth it.

For offensive players: We hear "run the spread!" and "use your best players!" all the time. So why take the ball out of a good offensive players hands, usually in space (like the vaunted spread), 4 times a game?

For defensive players (DBs): So they are stopping and starting, swiveling, and making contact often on every play. Why is S/Teams that much more dangerous?

Not harping at you OP. I just hate the idea of "saving" your best players by not letting them do returns. The return game is very valuable.

I was a for Donte until he Jordan Jeffersoned the ball vs Florida and tossed the ball straight up in the air. Don't think he was even touched.
