Look my cousin's daughter was murdered in BR last year and the BRPD did not use this much manpower or spend this much time on the case and it is still unsolved.
This is a case gone way overboard, it is a bar fight, not Custer's Last Stand.

I guess police departments should get rid of all of their divisions and just have them all out there walking plank road keeping us safe
They could probably afford to disband the 'Bar Fight Home Search/DNA Team.' Since this is the only time they've ever been put to use.

You mean the kid with the arrest record and history of fighting that was involved in the bar fight or were you talking about one of the other "victims"?
I'm talking about the kid with the fractured vertebrae. Pretty sure that's not the marine.
You've been posting nothing will happen, and this shite is over, and case closed since this shite started. You feel like a dumb arse yet?

How about if an off duty BRPD police officer was accused of breaking 3 vertebrae in a barfight? You'd be okay with the police not investigating that right?

Dude the only reason you even know about this investigation is because it involved LSU football players. The investigation has been ongoing for five days? I'd say that's a pretty short investigation.
It's about four days and 23 hours longer than most bar fight investigations.

It's so in depth because of the number of accusers and the seriousness of the injuries.
I watched a kid get shite stomped outside of Tigerland in 2002. EMS had to cart him from the scene. There were dozens of people standing around when the cops showed up. They took like two statements, made no arrests, and were gone in 20 minutes.
Look, people who deserve to be arrested deserve to be arrested. If that happens here, so be it. But don't kid yourself and think that this "par for the course" for this type of crime and injury.

Once again look at BRs murder rate and then tell me who has their priorities in order.
You keep bringing up useless bull shite. That has no point or merit being brought up here
I'm sure there are investigations for every murder that are much more extensive than this.
JJ is in trouble , and all the sunshine pumpers need to accept the fact.

Not to mention, the BRPD is in a tight spot. High profile cases like this are under so much scrutiny. If they don't investigate enough, they are accused of sweeping under the rug. If they investigate too much, they are accused of blowing it out of proportion.
Any mistake they make is amplified. I assume they want to make sure they have crossed all I's and dotted all T's for whatever their next step might be.

No one has said to not investigate it. Simply there are much bigger problems that this should not necessitate this much effort and expense.
Posted on 8/24/11 at 7:24 pm to msutiger
I bet everybody bitching about how much the BRPD is doing in this case would be just the opposite if This would of been last year and some one would of beat the shite of Patrick Peterson and broke three of his vertebrae and he was out for the season, I am sure at that point everyone would of been wanting a full investigation over a barroom fight
BRPD just doing their job
BRPD just doing their job

It was a bar fight. It should be over.
The police and media have made a mountain out of a molehill with this, and any reasonable person would agree.

Are you fricking kidding me? Do you actually believe this shite, or are you just trying to sound stupid?

I do think the brpd should do their job but I wonder if they have ever gone this far before for a bar fight thats all. I dont think that football players should get special treatment but I also dont think they should be made an example of.

It's called investigators and this is sort of what they get paid to do

My question about this whole situation is, are they really going to give whoever did it five years and fine him $2,000? Because this investigation is sure in-depth for something that will likely be pleaded down since it was a bar fight and nobody had life-threatening injuries.
