this is all about getting paid, he's gone

Right. If I made the implication that Wade fired his original attorney that was not my intention.
You did not. My rant was directed at others who jumped to conclusions.
Wade absolutely made a great move in hiring Thompson.
Just look at what Thompson has to say re: his handling of Sean Miller's case.

in a law suit against the NCAA, is just the right judge to bring them down
there is enought to show how unfair they are to some schools and others do what they want

So is this a real meeting or just a meeting meeting?

I fear that the meeting tomorrow will not lead to Coach Wade's reinstatement.
Rather it will lead to his termination.
It's going to be an inquisition atmosphere inside that meeting conference room. Hopefully Thompson has run Wade through the drill many times already and he is well prepared.
I just hope Coach Wade has a satisfactory answer to the main question he's going to be asked: "Coach Wade, what did you mean when you referred to making a 'strong-arse offer' to a basketball recruit?"
Any "offer" more substantive than promising him a large dormitory room or the best location for his locker in the locker room is not going to fly well, I'm afraid.

Very positive signs. It really leads me to believe Thompson has some type of leverage on the NCAA.
I could imagine a scene inside the meeting with the LSU compliance department and the NCAA rep. LSU compliance representative poses a question to Wade and the NCAA rep immediately interjects and calls for a break. During the break the NCAA rep pull the LSU compliance person aside and informs him/her to not go there. Here are your questions. Ask these and nothing more. Got it? Thanks.

It did. Yesterday

I hope so. But the fact the the NCAA demands to be in on the meeting and our admins are bending the knee is still unsettling.

Largest dorm room.
Most freshman playing time.
Game tickets for family members (that has to be legal, right).
The best tutors.
The best NBA advisers.
I'm sure the list is long.

I'd believe the real meeting happened yesterday or today. The Friday "meeting" let's them release a reinstatement late Friday afternoon and bury it in the news.
At least I'm ridin' with that theory because it makes me happy.

Oh man that's easy. The strong arse offer was the effort he put into building a relationship and convincing Smart to stay in state and go to LSU. The "sales pitch", if you will.

So, the original parameters of the meeting stay in place. This shows, with even new attorneys getting up to soeed, it was necessary.
LSU admin is vindicated in its otiginal request
God, we have the worst "fans".

I like this theory. It's actually a theory were LSU beats normal PR expectations. It means they are getting out in front of the situation and are in control. It's a very plausible theory.
