Gotta wonder if seeing Delpit go down with a freak torn Achilles in practice kinda made him think about whether the risk was worth it.

Dang that sucks, won't see him ever play again since I don't watch the NFL.

Yea, maybe chase was feeling the heat from an under classmen who was impressing the coaches and was scared he wouldn’t start?

You never know?

Absolutely not he wasn't at LSU to learn 3000 level English he was ther to showcase his abilities and learn how to play football at a higher level and he did. He got enough credit hours to go pro, it just not an office job.
I hope he made the right decision and he is drafted high and will continue to represent LSU in his career

And it’s not melting to state facts. Just come out and say I’m scared of injury and scared I can’t replicate last years performance. He could have “opted out” months ago and the coaches could have adjusted a number of things. Now he has put his team in a terrible spot.

Will go down as having a great season but certainly not a tiger legend now.

He’s effectively doing what Maurice Clarrett did. It remains to be seen if this is in anyone but his agents best interest.

Y’all are melting but Burrow would’ve made this exact same decision if somehow he had another year of eligibility at LSU and his stock was that high going into the season

Except he did have another season, he stayed and became the #1 pick. Doofus.

No, you really don’t. I’m sure Chase understood that people get injured well before Grant Delpit got injured in Cleveland

I completely understand that he’s too good to still be in college, but the fact that he’s taking advantaged COVID to skip his junior season, when it in fact had nothing to do with COVID, just rubs me the wrong way.

Will be interesting to see if this has a ripple effect.

It started with sitting out "meaningless bowl games"

Now opting out (whether due to COVID or not, I doubt this happens in a "regular" year)

Eventually, guys like Jamar and Justin Fields won't even play year 3 if they think they are locked in first rounders.

Hopefully Dylan Moses, Pat Surtain, Jaylen Waddle, Alex Leatherwood, Devonta Smith and Najee Harris start talking to agents too if this is how it's gonna go.

Numbers was going to be lower due to the talent at tight end and receiving group as a whole

I’m not mad at Chase. I can be disappointed in a decision just because I think he should’ve made this earlier, but all love and respect to dude. He got a ring and is a lock to the first round, I can’t hate a man for a decision that is better for his family
