I still want to know how this state is predominantly countrified.
new orleans and baton rouge make up most of the population of this state. and neither city seems predominantly countrified to me.
i don't see country western bars all over the place. i only know of one country music station here in town.
I don't think you realize how rural Louisiana is. Go five minutes out of baton rouge in any direction (not just towards LP) and you will only find bars named 'chucks' 'charlies' etc. where there are more people than teeth in the joint. Places where there is still a jukebox, not a dj or computer.
Where are you from Karma
edit: nevermind, I remember you telling me where you went to school.

fricking hick country song. makes me ashamed to be in the stadium.
No one is forcing you to go.
Aren't you being a bit judgemental? I am sure their are plenty of ppl who have some opinions about the music you play.

I don't understand your point. Neither does "Sweet Home Alabama" @ Bama
"Rocky Top" @ Tennessee
etc,etc,etc.

Karma, maybe when your band makes it out of chelsea's a WLOTM song can get played in TS. Until then, fricking deal.

I just don't understand this arguement. PPL who always start these threads need to go get some vagasil to cure their itchy Tacos. They need to take this arguement to the Saints board. I wonder what would be said if they wanted "Get Crunk" replaced at Saints games because it has nothing to do with football. I especially want to hear Karma's opinion on this, he is a huge Saints fan.

I dont like it because it is a shite song from a terrible artist.
Its like we just searched for the words Baton Rouge in a song and said "perfect" when we came across this one.
I could give a damn less if it has to do with football or not.

I agree 100% about how rural Louisiana is outside of New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Yes, half the state has a cajun tradition but north Louisiana has more of a typical southern tradition such as Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, etc. I grew up in Monroe and Pineville where the people listened predominantly to country music. I am not really a fan of Garth Brooks, but one little song doesn’t ruin my trip to the game. I have seen just as many people in South Louisiana wearing cowboy hats and boots as I have in north Louisiana. Most of the songs played in stadiums have little to do with the culture of the state. After all of that said, I wouldn’t be sad to see the song go but it doesn’t really bother me that much. Fever for the bayou by Tab Benoit would be a good one.

Now I can buy that arguement. Myself I like it, but thats just me. But the arguement of it has nothing to do with football is bullshite. Very few songs that schools play in the stadium before games has anything to do with football. I am sure it was picked because its a catchy up beat tune that is well known and contrary to what some say it is and was a very popular song. FWIW I wouldn't want callin BR replaced but I think they should play Born on the Bayou also.

I can get behind this.

nay. Born on the Bayou is too slow IMO. Callin' Baton Rouge is more upbeat.

nay... i remember the first time i walked in TS and they played that. It sent chills down my spine and it still does every single time. Born on the Bayou is a great song, but Callin' BR has to stay.
