Removing Guice from the records is absurd

He ran for 285 vs A&M. It happened. As far as anybody knows he didn’t take PEDs or anything else that would exclude him from the record books.
He also did terrible things off the field.
OJ Simpson was an incredible football player. He murdered 2 people. That doesn’t mean he wasn’t an incredible football player.
Derrius Guice is the current top single game rusher in LSU football history. Any book that doesn’t say that is incorrect.

Guice’s name and accomplishments will be mentioned even more when broadcasters and writers try to explain the asterisk.

I agree. I’m good with the ban, but it’s ridiculous trying to change history. Why not just go ahead and remove his very existence, that way LSU can just deny all those charges. Can’t be accused of mishandling conduct allegations from a person that was never even born.

I hate when they "remove" stuff for off the field issues. Like there is no Heisman winner in 2005 because they gave reggie bushs mom a house.

What asterisk? He won’t be listed.
Absurd.

Allegedly

Agreed.
Insanity.
Like we won’t forget Guice trucking motherfrickers on the field.
He needs help. This is not the way.
frick LSU for this.

Yeah, but that's an award. I guarantee you his stats are still in USC's books, as they should be

If you scrub Guice from record books you now have to go back and compare what he did to every other player with criminals past.
Aaron fricking Hernandez isn’t even scrubbed from UFs record book
LINK
Even with Reggie, removing the post season award doesn’t remove his stats from USCs records.
His off field transgressions don’t have any effect on the stats he produced on the field.
It’s a dumb precedent and now that the bar is set for LSU it’s going to be used for all players moving forward

Cancel culture needs to run its course quickly! It’s stupid.

Right...it doesn’t even have to be proven. This precedent means accusations are enough to get you cancelled. The “innocent until proven guilty” tenet of justice is dead.

LSU continues to whistle past the graveyard. Personnel dismissals required resolve and as the administration continues to put lipstick on the pig, they are actually making it worse

Who can we send a dirty email at LSU, in regards to this?
They can’t revoke my alumni status.
Maybe they can. frick em. I’ll still have my purple binder with a diploma in my name.

Even those would be bullshite reasons. There is literally no realistic reason to alter history.
Rewriting history is something moronic bureaucrats do.

Agree, and not a Guice apologist. Dude should be behind bars if the accusations are true, but you either did something or you didn’t. Running for a school record either happened, or it didn’t. It’s a physical achievement, not a moral judgment. Might as well take Billy Cannon out of the records, with his achievements; if we want to use Moral clauses against physical achievements, stupid!

I agree that it is silly and unnecessary.
And even though I agree with you, I also think removing him from the record books is not a big deal and anything to get myself worked up about.
