Tony Moss was small, but once you got the ball in his hands he could make things happen.

Lost a heartbreaker to Bama 20-17, when genius Curley went for a game-tying field goal when a tie wouldn't have helped LSU's cause of bowl eligibility.

I was at that game. I admit that was a bad call, and a bad ending to what was otherwise a good game.

! As i recall Kinchen had a big punt return for a TD

Long Td reception on a hitch and go 2nd play of the game. Terrell Buckley was known to bite on outs and hitches. He paid for it.

Fondest memory of Curley was banning earrings on players and getting shite faced in Tigerland on Friday afternoons. Ol baw loved cold beer, crawfish and co-eds

It was similar to the last two years of O on steroids

The team really wasn't that bad compared to the depths we would reach. It was my senior and there was some optimism in the air as we opened with, get this crap: at Ga., at TAMU. What an awful way to have to start a season with a new coach. We got smoked in both games. The Tigers did later play valiantly in close losses to #1 Florida State and a top 10 Bama team. Finished 5-6 but with a pretty tough schedule. I think it's fair to say most thought things were heading in the right direction by year's end. Were we ever wrong!

ReTardo

What the frick is the matter with you? DiNardo came in and stopped the bleeding and gave LSU football it’s only years of excitement in the whole decade of the 90’s,

OP is right. DiNardo is romanticized here, but he was a bad coach. Curly actually recruited some talent into LSU and DiNardo won with that talent, once it was gone he flamed out - badly.

ETA: DiNardo was 2-13 in the SEC his last two years, not even Curley was that bad over any two-year span.
