What caused him to do that?
According to The Athletic:
quote:
Vandy delivered a late hit on the sideline, and Burrow turned back, approached the player and — according to one staffer — informed him he’d throw for 500 on him now. He threw for 398 before getting pulled after three quarters
That's what made him special...he backed his shite talking up.
He was cocky, but you knew he was going to bring it
And
There
Wasn't
A
fricking
Thing
You
Could
Do
About
It

These stupid arse articles saying Tua will go before Joe. Even if all things were equal. This is what is gonna make Joe a all time great. Classic controlled confidence of “frick you you’re getting your arse best today but have a nice day.” God damned How luck are we to have watched this kid grow. And funny thing is we won’t truly realize it till ten years from now.

While Joe is a hell of a competitor and is up for the challenge, I am sure he is quietly hoping Tua goes before him (so he can avoid Cincinnati).
He's said it countless times...he just wants to play ball and he'll play for whoever wants to pay him to do it.

At the time I was questioning why he would do that. But looking back, I see that Joe’s confidence was on a level not understood by mere mortals like myself.

You may be right, but Joe's has always been about winning.
Huge money to play for a shite team that won't do what it takes to win vs. big money to play for a team that will spend the coin and make the moves to try to get better?
If past is prologue, he'd want the latter.

The money is slotted/fixed for the most part. The Bengals ownership, player evaluation, front office.. something has not been working for four or five years. Bengals were a lower tier playoff team when Dalton was drafted. Made the playoffs a couple of times. Now have fallen to Cleveland Brown territory

The best part is you can see the o-line thinking “oh, shite. What’s he about to do?”

I dont remember if it was that play but he ran out of bounds and the Vandy player road him all the way into the wall almost. I think that was after the teams were separated although there was never a fight or anything. Also in the game a couple of Vandy guys hit Joe on his release and sandwiched him for a good hit but talked some smack about it at the time. That was sort of the source of the chippiness that had Burrow scorekeeping the TD's for the Vandy sideline... Classic!

But the defense isn't good enough to beat Ohio State or Clemson. They'll struggle with Oklahoma's offense. Dddeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrr!

Is this the same game when after scoring 5 TD’s he flashed 5 fingers to the Vandy sideline. I’d love to see that gif.
Yep.

Why do some of you have to resort to vulgarity when supporting our players and team?
