Remember when Chris Landry said this would eventually happen while on OTB?

And was blackballed for it?

For those that don’t remember, he did a weekly spot on OTB a few years ago and he is very plugged in to the coaching circles and from Baton Rouge. After LSU hired Orgeron he predicted exactly what was going to happen. He said LSU under O will beat teams due to talent but also lose to less talented teams because they will be out coached. Said the model of him being a CEO and hiring good coordinators will not work because he is not strong enough in X’s and O’s To identify the proper assistant to hire.

He was blackballed from appearing on any Baton Rouge radio and this board trashed him saying he was jealous blah blah blah.

I predict LSU's next coach will win on talent and than lose to less talentted teams and be out coached.

BR media needs to be fired right along with Orgeron. They’re nothing but propaganda mouth pieces for the Orgeron regime.

I predict the new LSU coach will outcoach more talented teams, and absolutely destroy less talented teams.

I mean it’s easy now to say “I told you so”

He was also wrong in 2018 and 2019… we beat everyone and didn’t lose to any less talented teams

So guys that beat their chest and say “see I was right” are also simultaneously admitting that they were wrong too

If that is true, then he was obviously correct. Also, if he was "black balled" for speaking a plausible opinion, then shame on the lap dog media.

It’s funny looking at your Twitter page Chris, you tweet a lot about Orgeron getting the job in 16’, then again in 17’ after a poor season.

But in 2018 & 2019 you hardly tweet at all about Coach Orgeron lol

A two year window of success makes everything he said wrong? No, no it doesn’t.

I said Orgeron would never win any sort of hardware. I was wrong. I also said Orgeron would sink LSU to a place we haven’t seen since the 90s. I was right.

See how that works?

I means he’s been the coach for 4 seasons, so 2 good seasons is weighed the same as the 2 poor ones.

I’m not saying he’s wrong, I am saying he isn’t consistent. If he’s not the guy, he never is. Even if he is winning. Keep that energy if you want to beat your chest.

Well, that would be because we all believed he him when he said he had fixed the glaring issues from last year. Part of the reason everyone is so pissed off.

What’s hypocritical? Not sure what your great “gotcha” is with this thread.

I will say this, the 1st time I remember being aware of who Chris Landry was in late August of 2003. I will never forget it. I was living in Austin and listening to a local sports radio show (in the parking lot of Mr. Gatti’s on 620 West in Round Rock—that’s how well I remember it), and they were previewing the national CFB landscape. And he said something like “Look out for Nick Saban’s LSU team. Matt Mauck is back after getting hurt last year against Florida when he and Nick had LSU rolling at 5-1. They return A LOT on defense and should be really good. They are my sleeper team to make a run at the NC.”

And for whatever reason, even after winning the SEC in ‘01, that was the 1st time I really understood we were capable of winning NCs, not just that year specifically, but potentially others to come. Now, I did think Landry was strictly a national guy and didn’t realize he had ties to LSU. I also didn’t realize he sucked and didn’t have nearly the connections he claimed to, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt longer than I probably should have. It’s been clear for several years now how bad he sucks.
