Tell me how great Miles recruiting classes were at Ok. St. were if the perception of the school isn't a factor. If he is a great recruiter he should be able to get tem wherever he is.

not really...look at school recruiting budgets and you'll see who is getting the recruits.

But to simply discount this staff's ability to recruit is complete buffoonery.

im not reading this whole thread....

the schedule has been a factor the last several years. Ours is consistently harder than theirs.

The mulligan last year was absurd. Im sure your not going to hear a peep about the two best team argument this year.

Even if we had 1 loss you wouldn't hear it.

Also the fact that bama doesn't get called for penalties is absurd.

The fact is $abun is no better a coach than any one else.

He is just a "school" that will pay any amount of money for victory.

doubtful, Russell was far from being developed in 2005, and his failure at o-line recruiting would have caught up with him as it did Les and Jimbo. Had Saban stuck with Russell in 2004 instead of using the revolving door philosophy, he may have been ready in 2005. If Russell was still at LSU, rumors at the time was he hated Saban and was ready to leave.

Why does going down on Saban make you feel better?

Because he made LSU great again. He built the machine and handed over the keys.

Without Saban, there is no Miles.

The fact is, many fans were wanting to run Saban off in 2004 BEFORE the NFL option was a real reality.

Then we bitched and got all self-righteous when he left. Why wouldn't he, we were already turning on him.

Saban coming back to the SEC and continually raping us is simply karma to all the fickle fans.

Absolutely. JR was notoriously lazy and laid back, would not have meshed well at all with Saban's tightly wound persona.

who was ready in 2004...Randall, Ricard, Clauson?

nobody. QB was an issue

our QB situation was set in 2005. it had a 1-year hiccup due to mauck's decision to leave early

RP gets kicked off and we STILL don't have a great Qb. 5 fricking years

which number is bigger: 5 or 1?

I'm NOT slamming Saban.
I think he's phenomenal.
His record speaks for itself.
WHICH IS WHY I AM PRESENTING HIS RECORD !
I'm just stating FACTUALLY his record AT LSU.
Why the frick do you slobbering, cultish Sabanistas not get that ?

And how does your brain LOGICALLY allow you to IGNORE his ACTUAL RECORD AT LSU and simultaneously IMAGINE THE IMAGINARY SUCCESS HE WOULD HAVE HAD AT LSU ?

"Yeah he was FACTUALLY 48-16 at LSU, lost THREE OF HIS LAST 10, but had he stayed he would have been 100-4".

Who has said they can't recruit?

I don't think logic is one of your strengths.

Well obviously with dickbags like you continually bitching about our coach, our fans have learned their lesson.

you're just making shite up now...

the NFL option was reality from 2002 on...that was probably the only thing LSU fans had against Saban, no one wanted to "run him off" from a coaching perspective

Yeah a record REBUILDING a program. The question is: in what state did Saban leave LSU? He left LSU ripe for a multi year title run.

Look where BAMA is now. Where we were in 2005: poised for multiple titles.

225bred....Also, Les is an average coach at best, and I don't even think he's that great of a recruiter, at this point LSU is a brand that sells itself, we will get elite talent(most from LA) despite what moron is HC

Recruits think of the best teams in the country and LSU is in the top 5. It is because of what Saban built.

ok,, fine... So Bama gets kids because of Bear Bryant, right?

Y'all want it both ways. You can't have it both ways... Les goes into these kids homes and talks to mom, dad, granny and aunt flo..... Nick don't go with him... Wake up.
When I chose, I didn't choose because of the coach that was there 10 years before....

Gimme a break...

I don't think he is the great recruiter all you dumbasses make him out to be. He didn't get great recruiting classes at Ok st. A great recruiter at LSU would always have top 5 classes.

Dinardo was a better recruiter.

Look, I appreciate what Dinardo did for LSU and believe that he doesn't get as much credit as he deserves. But this statement just fricking asinine. There is no way you can objectively believe that.

This is the most legit criticism of Miles tenure. You need at least 1 QB in every class and sometimes 2. No QB in 2006 was dumb. 2009 and 2010 were whiff's. It appears they have corrected it with signing Mett, Rivers, getting Kiel to commit even though he flaked on us and Rettig and Jennings for 2013. Hopefully they keep in up and sign one in 2014. The one's that don't make it can transfer, but keep 4 at all times. A started a back up and a couple of young guy's to develop.

Since Saban apparently is responsible for Miles' succes at LSU, does this mean Dinardo was responsible for Saban's success at LSU?
