RELAX… realities of the portal with coaching changes

Obviously this is the first time most of us are experiencing a major coaching shake up with the addition of the transfer portal. Yes, in the past when changes occur, recruiting classes take a hit just see Miles at LSU and Saban at Bama. Now with the portal you will lose even more, however, the portal can also be your friend. Take a minute to read this article from August about Mel Tucker at MSU, and you may realize that all is not lost.

One for a meaningless bowl game. Walker will be here soon and we’ll have 2 and we’ll definitely add a transfer we’ll be back to 3 scholarship QBs by the end of next month.

Kids are going to be running around the portal with no direction at all. HC and staff changes at LSU, Oklahoma, Miami, Oregon, USC, ND, Florida, and this carousel hasn’t stopped it’s cycle yet.

"One ....QB". Suppose he gets hurt in Fall practice? MB can tell him all about QB's getting injured. This is not your typical transfer issue, it hurts as it's the possible starting QB with no proven player behind him.

I’m not worried about these transfers and de-commitments at all. I have 1000% more confidence in Kelly than I ever did with O. He’ll bring in the right guys and develop those who stay. Nobody thought Max Johnson was going to have a stellar career. With a name like “Dacoldest,” you can’t imagine that he had positive parenting or discipline growing up. He’ll be a problem on any roster.
