Collins will come and sit and get ready to be a great player. He can play special teams. Loston and Reid were both 5 star recruits and will be ahead of him.

Loston needs to prove he can play consistent pass defense. He's a big hitter adn good run supporter but he needs to demonstrate he can read route combos and break on the ball and make plays with the ball in the air---not just head hunting.

FWIW Reid was not a 5 star recruit. Although, he played like one last year.

Nothing really surprising here.......more of a about time......Loston was the #1 safety coming out and should make a big impact this year
I was even surprised that they werent trying him out on returns...he was a return specialist in HS too.

Lot of people may not like it but Collins is a PRIME candidate to move to OLB in our defense. Kid is already 6'0 210-215.
I hope the Trevon Randle situation doesnt turn into anything bad, we need T. Randle as a future OLB. Otherwise we will be needing another safety thrown down at OLB because it looks like we are really weak there for the foreseeable future.

Does anyone else think this is strange? At year end and Cotton Bowl, I thought Reid had stepped up and was ahead of Loston. What happened between the Cotton Bowl and now?

Reid was stepping in for Brandon Taylor, now Brandon Taylor is back and Reid is behind him. Loston is at the other safety spot which Karnell Hatcher has vacated and moved to OLB.
