I don't have much to complain about the outcome of the Baton Rouge post season baseball tournaments as LSU punched their ticket to Omaha again. However, for future post season tournaments, could the NCAA have someone who is familiar with south Louisiana weather make decisions concerning weather delays? These last two weekends' delays were completely unwarranted, IMO.

Everyone agreed with you… but when you typed “NCAA”…..
They could give two fricks about anybody but themselves and are entirely too stubborn to change anything they don

West Coast Jay will learn with time.

LSU, as the host, hires the weather advisor for the event. While the NCAA makes the ultimate call (in conjunction with ESPN), they rely on LSU to advise them.
Johnson has shown, repeatedly, he is going to do everything possible to delay the start of a game if there is even a slight chance of an in-game weather delay. He doesn’t want to start a pitcher then essentially lose him for the weekend after a few innings or (like what happened with Floyd in 2023).
Jay is driving the decision to delay. He’s not sitting around when it’s sunny outside demanding to play with the NCAA telling him no. So what you are really asking for is someone from the NCAA to tell Jay to “frick off” and require the start of the game against the wishes of his coach and his weather advisor

For the 100th time, no he isn’t. The rep we had this year made it clear that she was not going to allow games to start without a clear window to get the game in without a delay. You really think Jay could tell the NCAA no we’re not playing right now and they’d just be like OK coach.

You must be very young and are not wise to the world.

That’s not what he said, and I doubt that anyone believes this is what’s happening.
People are saying that the folks advising the NCAA rep (folks who are appointed by the host site i.e. LSU) are being extremely conservative about the potential for weather, and that this mentality ties back to Jay’s wishes via the AD. Jay doesn’t have to tell the NCAA rep “I don’t want to start” directly to influence the outcome.
I have no idea whether this is actually happening, but it seems weird to act like it’s crazy considering we’ve seen LSU consistently go with the most conservative approach possible during the regular season (when they do have control).
I don’t think it’s at all crazy to suggest that:
1. LSU’s approach during the regular season is a reflection of Jay Johnson’s wishes as head coach,
2. The same folks making the conservative decisions during the regular season are likely the ones advising the NCAA rep, and
3. Therefore, the advice that those folks give the NCAA rep during the tournament is also a reflection of Jay Johnson’s wishes as head coach.
None of that is mutually exclusive with the idea that the NCAA rep wanted a clear window. It comes down to how (and by whom) a “clear window” gets defined.

I think that mentality you speak of regarding needing a window is somewhat influenced by lsu when hosting, and it coincides with jay getting here. I dont think he directly goes to the rep and says they arent starting. But i think his lsu rep, and lsu’s weather person know lsu’s wishes

It’s plain as day that Jay has influence considering the delays were never like this until he became HC. It is what it is

Espn scheduling windows
Coaches not wanting to put there starters out and get a rain delay
Obviously Sunday was based on the heat index for fans and players.

I know people that are involved in running these events at LSU. And I can tell you for a fact that Jay was not happy with the constant delays on the Friday of the regional.
