Thank you for the explanation. I do not like it but now understand what is happening. I kind of thought it was all about money. Your efforts in keeping this site running are much appreciated.

MikeD, I will make sure that doesn't happen again...thanks

I was also told that the free streaming sites obviously hurt the pay-to-listen Geaux Zone business.

Users posting links isn't illegal. Do you get money from LSU? If not, then screw 'em. You aren't rebroadcasting or duplicating the content in any way.

Geaux Zone business would increase if they could actually provide good service instead of the awful product it is currently.
Sad that the free internet streams can provide better service.

I actually tried to purchase a subscription. The system was pathetic. After about four attempts to give them my money and getting denied I gave up.

Same experience. Tried multiple (all good) credit cards. Then found a phone number but no help. Gave up.

hawthorne and gmorgan were born to go together like pomegranate juice and vodka
some of the most exciting games i've 'attended' have been here at td.com
- troy/lsu
- uno/lsu baseball
- lsu baseball play-off run
- 3 or 4 basketball games this year

If they did like the rest of the world and went to an ad-supported site, and not a subscription-based model, they would see a huge increase in their impressions and could probably raise their CPM. I mean, really, it's ALLLLLLLLLLL about the money, they may as well make more money while crafting the message that they are doing it for the fan base.

Sucks that they had to do this at the start of baseball season..

I actually was able to get a feed by paying for a month subscription just now, but it has since denied my credit card info and booted me off.
Screw GZ.

Thanks for making it even harder to stay on top of everything when you are a Tiger's fan in Okieland.

Yeah, I am in Chicago and rely on the streaming links to watch the Tigers. I also have GeauxZone and don't have many complaints. The one BIG ISSUE I do have is that they didn't broadcast a single SEC basketball game. If this is also the case for baseball then there is no reason to have it.
Why would they want to control the market if they can't guarantee a competitive coverage package?

You are dead on the money with that quote. LSU needs to be innovative in the way that it handles its media. It has not been so far. Sites like Tiger Droppings are where fans migrate. I dropped my subscription to Rivals (Tigerbait) last year and on National Signing Day this year I looked at both the TD Recruting page and the Rivals page and TD had between 6k and 9k viewing at any given time while Rivals had about 1k. If LSU really wants to build upon its loyal fan base then a few carrots need to be thrown out there rather than making you pay for every little thing. There are thousands of us outside of Louisiana who cannot get local tv or radio broadcasts such as the LSU baseball game from Friday night. It's great to support our team but difficult to afford to pay and pay and pay. I buy ESPN gameplan every Fall but also believe that LSU should provide some content to its fans maybe through a network of sorts like the Big10 is doing through cable systems. I've got an Ohio State alum friend down in Tampa who loves that he's able to watch a boat load of Ohio State games from many sports as part of his cable channel lineup.
