It will be an SEC crew. The road team brings the refs.
Neutral site games are different.

NCAA needs to do away with conference crews. Break it all up and implement strict guidelines regarding team/official affiliation.
Headquarters will of course be in Birmingham.

I truly think that referees and officials at the major college and pro levels call games without bias toward teams.
you really think that applies to redneck bama fans who work at the Birmingham SEC offices and hire these red neck SEC ref crews. Keep your head in the sand if you want to, but I choose reality.

Cause that works so well for basketball..

Refs get graded on every play and every call they make. If their calls are too slanted for or against a team, that would get noticed and their career would be over.

The sport has gotten so big that it requires everyone to be extremely naïve to digest.
The NFCCG just happens to be the least transparent example.
The LA market is second largest, yet they can't keep a team there, but they want and need it so badly, they accidently scheduled ex-players and a parent of a Rams season ticket holder to call the game.
The SEC pays its head coaches more than the NFL. It's TV contracts are just as valuable as NFL's. Billions of dollars, and you think there's not a VESTED interest in the outcome of games?
The credibility of the game is gone. Saturday night was a perfect example of how the judgement of officials on the field and in booths can and do determine the outcomes of games.
Go back and watch Franks celebrate his TD run late out the back of the endzone, then look at what the MIA defender celebrated after the late INT, and ask yourself how in the Hell one could be flagged and not the other.
Go back and watch the infamous Vadal Alexander unnecessary roughness call after we recovered the fumble inside the 5, where 3 different AL defenders are trying to get an LSU player to retaliate by pulling on legs, etc.
Look at all of the targeting calls made on AL opponents prior to their game with AL, and the ones AL have that are reviewed and found to not be intentional.
CFB has lost its integrity the same as the NFL did last year, with the non interference in Saints game and the phantom call for roughing Brady giving them their desired matchup.
And this isn't some anti-AL knee jerk thing. If Saban were at LSU, you would see LSU get favoritism b/c of him. He is the most marketable thing CFB has going now. People tune in to see him, win or lose. And it's all about advertisers money.

How is that talk any different than many of the threads on any team's fan site forums?

quote:so you think it makes sense for a conference to use out-of-conference refs for all their games? So we'd need to bring in refs from all over the country to ref a game in our region?
We should make it clear right now that we refuse to play any game that has SEC refs. Just have the team refuse to dress out or go on the field in any game until another non SEC crew is brought in. WE need to send a message to the SEC criminal cartel that we aren't playing by their biased bigoted so called 'rules' any more.
You do know that's utter nonsense for so many reasons, and increases travel time and expense by a huge amount. SEC refs generally live in the southeast, and most have regular jobs, so getting them to and from their games is an important issue.
Plus, don't you want the conference in control of their own refs? Kinda makes sense - unless you're wearing a tinfoil hat.

I hope it isn't an SEC crew. Ugh. That would be brutal.

my guess is SEC at Austin
I was hoping for refs who did not have anti-LSU bias

But I just don't buy that there's a systemic problem with refs being biased for or against a certain team.
I'm with you atltiger but you'll never convince this fanbase of that. My motto is to never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by incompetence. And there's a lot of incompetence in the ranks of SEC officials.

Bump -- does anyone know where I could find it? You'd think ESPN, Yahoo, CBS, etc. would include at least the conference the crew comes from in the game description
