I went in 2023 just for the final 3 games and had a blast.

Are you a golfer? They have very inexpensive public golf courses in Omaha. I think we played Miracle Hills for about $30 including cart.

Not a whole lot of good restaurants there.

There is a nice casino in Council Bluffs if you like that kind of thing.

McDonald's is pretty consistent nationwide.

There is a parking lot near the bridge on the Council Bluffs side of the River. You can park and then walk across the bridge directly to the stadium. Beautiful! There are a number of restaurants in downtown Omaha. I recommend the Matt - which was an old mattress company. Bar type food, but fun environment and the owner and staff came to my aid when I became overheated! They were super! GA tickets will require very early mornings for lining up pre-game. A great experience-difficult, but great!

GA seats before game - look at seats that haven’t been purchased and get a nice upgrade!

Plenty cool places around stadium

Uber/Lyft

Fine Dining - Mahogany (yummy)

Be very choosy on your hotel stays. I moved twice because I was trying to save a dollar. The last hotel had a washer/dryer available which was nice

I’m thinking about going this year. How long of a wait in line should the GA tickets be? Is it one of those deals where you get there at like 5 AM and camp out until the box office opens?

We stayed in Council Bluffs and Ubered to a park on the Missouri river where you can take a footbridge across the river to just outside the stadium. Very scenic and convenient and cheap. Barrets barleycorn was a disappointment. The zoo is great. If you cant get tickets, Annies is less than a mile from the stadium and has a large cool courtyard with theatre sized TV and seating outside, food, drinks, bathrooms and lots of Tiger fans.

Based on roughly six trips, with the most recent being the 12 days of 2023.

No need to rent a car. Uber or get a hotel shuttle to bring you around. Old Market (downtown restaurant area is walking distance to stadium)

Places to eat:

Barrett's is the LSU hangout (bar and grill). It is NOT near stadium. Not especially nice but fun to go to. They typically boil crawfish one day.

The Drover - nice steakhouse (also not near stadium). Like stepping into a 1970's time machine. Make a reservation if you want to go.

M's Pub is in Old Market (downtown). Great people and good food. Staff does shots at 3:00 PM every day,

Cascio's - steakhouse and Italian near downtown pretty good. As is Upstream Brewery and Twisted Fork.

Near stadium - Mattress Factory is a large bar and grill. Big LSU hangout. The Blatt overlooks the stadium. Rocco's (jello shots) is the most over-rated place ever. Very small and average food. The whole jello shot thing is a gimmick to get people in.

Things to do:

I thought it was a joke, but the zoo is really awesome.
Also did Boys Town one year. It's ok.
Rented bikes and rode around the large parks near the river, around the stadium, and over the pedestrian bridge.
Drove to Lincoln one day to check out the Nebraska campus. About one hour away. Nice cop gave us a behind the scenes tour of athletic faciltiies.

I always recommend to people who have never been to go for the first 4 days. Get there the day before the games start. You will have all 8 teams with their fans plus the locals. You will have 2 games every day.

I wish we could, but we live on the West Coast and his HS graduation is on day 2. he wanted to go to the CWS final.

There are some hotels in Council Bluffs with complimentary shuttle bus that will drop you off and pick you up from ballpark, as well as airport. The hotel you're staying at may offer it. I'd call and ask.

Unless you plan on doing other stuff (there's not much to do there, and not a lot of good restaurants), probably best to just Uber it and not rent a car.

As teams lose and get knocked out, more tickets will open up on secondary market as some of their fans will bail and sell their tickets. It's a gamble, but sometimes you can get really good deals on Stubhub, etc. if you wait until last minute before game starts.

Most of the hotels along the river have shuttles that will drop you off near the stadium. Plenty of eating options within walking distance.

I live about an hour. Roth of Omaha, I don’t know too much about places to eat, but for things to do, there’s cabelas in Omaha, bass pro in council bluffs, of course the zoo, there’s several state parks within driving distance. Ponca State park which is probably 2 hours north on the sd, Iowa, Nebraska, boarder, Mahoney park in Ashland, which is between Omaha and Lincoln. The Omaha Storm chasers, if you want more baseball. Not sure when their season is but we also have a professional Vball team in Omaha that sells out the quest center every game. Also you can’t beat the old downtown area!
