I don’t like him either but it’s a national news story about LSU. Prior to this one they’re always posted on the Rant. It’s not hard to see why this one wasn’t.

It could’ve been and I just didn’t see it but it must not have gotten many hits.

Take it for what it’s worth but Nuss is a leader in this group. The players like him, they follow him, he’s an alpha personality

Players don’t follow “leaders” who play as poorly as Nuss has.

I’m hearing the players (aren’t) fond of him, the administration (isn’t) fond of him, the fans (aren’t) fond of him, the town (isn’t) fond of him,” Smith

Seriously. Stephen a smith.

You think he has sources in baton rouge

Still unreal that you shite all over a freshman, when your boy threw 10/10 last year in a garbage non defense playing conference. He hasn't thrown them this year because he doesn't throw the ball unless a player is WIDE open. Nuss threw 2 pics in a full starting game last year against a good SEC team. The only other time he has played with the 1s was Auburn this year. You have another reason to be bashing nuss and pumping JD.

So you are saying the players don't follow JD either then because he has played like garbage. You can see the wrs don't want to play for him. In fact, the wrs want Nuss

That's literally what I said. That was going into his senior year, and he got passed up during the year by other quarterbacks. He missed 4 weeks and returned before the season ended.

I agree with everything you are saying except the OC not tailoring to JD. If he tailored to him we would be running the triple option with less than 10 passes per game. QB has to be able to make reads to check down or throw behind the blitz. I would bet our QB has options to audible when he gets to the line but he is not on the same page with his WRs. The Auburn game was a great example of not doing this well and TN was probably JD’s best game with the WRs. With no passing game to stretch the field then dinking and dunking has to be perfect to sustain a drive all the way down field but one mistake and your punting.

JD has it in his game to be one of the best QBs in college football. He shown it during his freshman year.

However, he had an experience similar to Jarrett Lee during his sophomore and junior seasons.

Whether or not he can overcome it is what remains to be seen. Honestly at this point, the answer is no, but the book is still open on him.

I was at the UT game, and one thing I noticed was Howard was often away from other QB’s mimicking pre snap reads, and simulating going through his progressions.

The kid is itching to play, and is getting better any chance he gets.

I noticed this in all the fall practice videos. Howard was engaged in every rep going through the footwork and reads in his head. It was extremely impressive to me how much he was locked in.

Why, because I include recruits senior seasons as well? Either way, whether he was the consensus #1 quarterback recruit or not is irrelevant to my point. There have been plenty of can't miss recruits that were rated higher than Walker throughout the years that haven't lived up to the hype. Walker is a freshman that hasn't thrown a single pass in a college football game. For anyone to act like they know how good he will be is naïve on their part.

JD great kid. Lacks capacity to win with current offensive system because he won’t throw to open receivers, doesn’t see the field well and the offensive coordinator is not tailoring thing to what he does well consistently. The offensive line is not consistent enough or over powering enough to have a solid run game. There is so much wrong due to roster and coaches that this season is a practice season. It’ll all work out eventually. Cheer for the kids, have a drink and if you need to, rewatch a game from 2019. Geaux Tigers.

A really good post.

You fail to meet Rant controversy requirements, however. Reason, moderation, logic, etc. are not needed here.

Stephen A should know he had a bad take when Finebaum is forced to be the reasonable one.

I'm not calling for Nuss to start or anything to the nature, but what is up with the hate for Nuss. Based on one bad performance this year where he was clearly pressing his arse off? He played well against NM and didn't really have a chance to do much against Auburn. Is it based on those performances or do people hear that he isn't practicing well, also?
