Has it been a platoon though? Whenever I saw Reaves starting against a lefty, I think it cleared up what JJ is thinking. Braswell may become strictly a defensive sub.

Why? Because he hit some missiles against xavier?

Come on. You are better than this. Reaves is a really solid hitter. You have years of evidence that back that claim, and using your eye balls this year confirm it all. I'm not questioning Reaves as a hitter for the same reason I'm not questioning Dickinson or Curiel as all around baseball players.

Braswell has as many ABs as Reaves.

at some point you can’t give the guy slashing .182/.282/.242 playing time over the guy slashing .333/.364/.633

and having watched a fair bit of both, I think Reaves numbers would be even higher with just an speck of luck.

he was getting a lot of super loud outs early in. just ripping balls right at guys.

Should John Pearson get a starting shot at 3rd? I mean if we are making the move for offense shouldn't he at least be in the mix if he can half way handle it defensively? He might be the best or most dangerous hitter of the 3

Reaves was a beast with the bat at Blinn CC. Hopefully it translates into SEC play

No but you can move Bear to 3B and either Frey or Pearson to 1B. You give up defense to get some offense. Or i guess Pearson can play 3B, has he played 3B in the fall?

If Reaves cant hit lefties then can Pearson play 3B against lefties?

i haven’t seen Pearson at 3rd and the reaves has been fine defensively. i haven’t seen a huge drop off there with Braswell out.

I do think Oearson should keep getting AB but he’s probably a RHH DH/Ph at this point short of injuries.

He has been serviceable at both 3rd and 1st. For his body type he is athletic and moves his feet well. Plus his bat plays at this level. Hopefully he gets some reps this weekend to gear up for the step up in competition for conference play.

But Braswell with the same number of errors and a batting avg .150 worse than Reaves will cut it?

It will depend on the pitching matchup for now.

Not a SEC player? Good Lord. CJJ then obviously knows nothing about evaluating college baseball players.

Not sure what you are laughing at. Hitter/pitcher matchup decisions have been a staple of the Jay Johson era at LSU. If Brazzy comes around, as it appears he has, that may not be the case. But against Starting LHPs he will probably always get the start at third. .

Reaves can’t field a ground ball consistently. You do realize this is kind of an issue, huh
