I can see the validity of both sides of this argument.
I think that benching a senior in order to "prepare for the future" could cause some serious angst amongst the team and that's definitely something we don't want.

I think the team wins out if MB starts, but I also think the additional game time isn't going to be a huge help. The guys that are good enough to play early and to play well at this level don't usually need a year to get acclimated. It obviously wouldn't hurt to get additional snaps but I think the progress we think he would see in 3 games is overstated.

any hopes for a division title is all but gone.

So we just pack it in? Myles will get plenty of Live reps the rest of the year and have all offseason to work with his receivers. He’ll be more than ready. Danny had a rough game against Bama (although he still made a few nice throws) but he’s been a generally good QB. No reason to pull him when we still have a chance at a 10 wins season and possible cotton bowl birth*. I’d call that a strong finish.

* is it birth or berth? I forget.

Win out with Brennan

I'm sure the coaches know what's best. I've been critical of O but I can admit he has forgotten more football than I would ever know and that goes for about 99% of this board as well.

Brennan should get some playing time for sure. Etling has been a good soldier. I don't think he should be kicked to the curb. Besides, I think he gives LSU the best chance to win, but I also had leaned to giving the reins to MB

All sounds great until Brennan throws a couple of picks and we lose 1 of these next 3 games against an awful opponent because of it...

I'd rather see Brennen in for 1 or 2 series around beginning of 2nd qtr, then approximately a full quarter 3rd to 4th. Total 1-1/2 quarters, approximately.

Give McMillan some packages/snaps in the 1st half, 1 series somewhere in the 2nd half.

Let Etling start, and finish.

As bad as Etling plays at times, he is still the best option to win. Winning should be the goal, not getting players ready for next season.

Brennan should get plenty of 2nd half snaps the next two weeks if LSU comes to play.

I am not sure at this point that Etling is our best option. Buuut, it shouldn't matter who starts against Arkansas. Should be a win either way. I think MB should get the entire second quarter and plan on him getting the fourth as well.

I am an Etling supporter but his play has regressed at bit the last few games. Give Etling the start because he is the Senior but play MB and hope we see that he is better then Etling.

That will be the excuse next year if the team struggles. With Etling at QB, LSU will not have a lead big enough to bring Brennan in. These games will be close, see Troy and Syracuse.

Let him play the second half if we have a 14 or greater point lead going in the half.

Yea throw him to the wolves next season having not a single game playing experience against a team that will probably win the ACC this year. I don’t buy it.

Come on man.
He has gotten more time then most of our recent qbs

If Brennan cant start next year that is on him.

Some more playing time this season should help his development and should happen but to say he or Narcisse or whoever can not handle the opening game simply because they did not get to start this last 3 games is being simplistic at best.

What if Brennan does not win the starting job?

What's the point when we aren't going to get into the playoffs let alone a good bowl game? Might as well focus on long term.

Well, unless you want to see a QB run frantically into his linemen with no pressure and a clean pocket for 4 more games...

So YOU are saying Etling sucks?????

I don't mind Myles seeing some action in every game that's left. But you don't bench A senior QB....

Dumbass.......
