Probably a 9-3/10-2 season

More likely to be 8-4/9-3. Going into the season, LSU will be dogs to Bama, Auburn and Ole Miss for sure, and possibly A&M.

Like this year, 8-4 could be possible as well

But we do get Ole Miss and Bama at home. I wouldn't be surprised if A&M is without Manziel or Sumlin next year so who knows how good they'll be

I think Auburn on the road will be our toughest game

I would like our chances a lot more with an 8 team playoff instead of 4.

Wisconsin is on the same level as Ole Miss and A&M next year. A team we are at least evenly matched with

No telling right now how good either of those 3 will be though

LSU is going to get to the Auburn game 5-0. Auburn will also be 4-0 and it'll be one of October's biggest games.

If LSU can get by the Auburn/UF stretch..it's possible LSU gets to the idle week undefeated at 9-0.

kick arse year because of amazing sophomores?

Ugh absolutely.. Have you not noticed the talent of LSU's sophomores of late? Tyrann Mathieu was a true soph when he was SEC defensive player of the year and should of been Heisman. Peterson was a monster as a soph as well.. Quarterbacks in their 2nd season also tend to have tremendous success.

It's not just the soph.. it will have a nice balance of juniors/seniors as well..

Everything depends on just how well you hit on a quarterback in college football.. and these elite talents are having tremendous success early.

When has LSU and Miles lost an Out of conference regular season game? Do they not have the record atm? LSU is also among the best on opening games.. Also the game is in TX.. That's a huge plus. Virtually a home game.

LSU has an easier schedule next season on paper, but honestly they will be worse on offense and be at best slightly better on defense and most likely the same on that side of the ball.

Auburn and Ole Miss will likely be improved and Bama will still be more talented than LSU.

Earliest about two years after they hire Miles replacement.

okay....and? streaks like that don't last forever. wasn't miles unbeaten in september before this year? (I may be wrong about that, but it's something not that far off i dont think.)

LSU will likely be favored by a good margin in this game, but again, it doesn't make the game any easier, especially breaking in so many new starters on both sides of the ball.

i have no idea who wiscy returns, but you can bet it's the wisconsin of old/new...which is practically a similar philosophy to what LSU/Miles runs.

I think we'll be significantly better on defense and that we'll surprise people with how well we fill our holes on offense

I'm still not sold on Ole Miss. They will play us close anyway though

Well. We played in it 2011, were 1:20 from having a very good shot in 2012. Had a bunch of players leave early, combined with a weaker than normal 2012 class led to a below par 2013. 2014 will be better on defense with a more favorable schedule so if comes down to the qb position. 2015 will have a mature group of kids this year plus a second year for the 2013 class so we should be pretty good then.

Change to the playoff will be different too. In theory, we could get int that without HAVING to beat Bama in the regu,at season.

Frankly, Bama is abnormal. We are like every other of the 116 universities. In fact at the very top in of that.

No flame but when do y'all see LSU in the thick of things for a national championship again in the future?

I think having won two NC's in recent history has skewed everyone's thinking. And having Bama win them like its candy hasn't helped ether.
Lots of fans from talented programs haven't lived long enough to experience one NC. Yet, we act as if it's as simple as just lining up and having a few fortunate bounces. Do you think Oregon fans want an NC? How many do they have? How about Penn State or Nebraska fans? It's been a while for both teams? Texas, Florida State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Georgia, I bet their fans want a NSC as well? Maybe the bar has been set so high here that fans can't simply enjoy a good season anymore? And then, maybe in our lifetimes we will see an eight, ten or twelve team playoff and we won't have to agonize over losing one game and being left out?

Two years. We lose offense this year. This defense will be a little more balanced I don't see another mass exodus to the NFL we experienced last year. Next year will be about our offense getting experience. So my guess is one more year. A&M will take a hit with Maziel leaving most likely. Alabama loses AJ. Ole Miss we get at home. Auburn will be a tough road game. Schedule is a bit easier but a real run should be 2015.

Realistically

Expect next year to be a 2-3 loss season and in 2015 we will be back in the NC hunt similar to 2011.

Most of the youthful talent on the team will be of age and you will start seeing the fruits of the 2013 and 2014 classes show on the field.
