I was watching some of the Bama game earlier. Harris got drilled on some of the best throws in that game.

I really hope he has grown through the tough times last year.

Harris never stood a chance. He was running for his life and constantly in 3rd and longs. Terrible game plan and atrocious Oline play.

That's one reason why I don't understand the high expectations for this year. The offensive line was terrible last year and there's no reason to think it'll be significantly better this year. Without a good OL, no offense can succeed, especially not one with zero imagination. We should/may be able to run block against weaker teams enough to get Fournette room to run, but against any good defense where we need to throw the ball some, I don't see how we're going to be effective no matter how much Harris has supposedly improved.

But they weren't basic in their sets, nor is LSU ever basic in their sets. Do you watch games, or just read the rant?

One need only look to how bad our OL was against Syracuse last year.

Our OL better be a lot better this year or it will be another shitting November.

The offensive line was NOT terrible last year; it was fairly good. There were two, and only two games, in which the offensive line was dominated - Arkansas and Alabama. Alabama had an all-world front seven, so no excuses are required. Arkansas had a very strong defensive line, and we were without 2/7 of our run blockers (maybe 3/7 if we were missing an olineman, as others have said).

That means in 10 games the offensive line did well. That includes pushing around a very good Florida defensive front.

They werent terrible but certainly not as good as most want to believe. All the coach hate on how Miles just let the team down in November and he is too stubborn and predictable with very few pointing out our OL, very average defense and suspect QB play. Its amazing that people blamed those losses on game day coaching. If LSu had done that to Ark everyone woukdve said we kicked their butt.
Bottom line: Hawkins was a terrific RT but an average SEC LT. Vadal was a terrific Guard but below avg RT. How he won the awards he won is puzzling. The NFL draft was more accurate. 2 freshmen at Guard and a superb Center What shouldve been 10-3 with that team was good coaching. Could it have been better sure, but LSU won every game it shouldve won. That Ole Miss team when Tunsil came back was a top 5 team and Arky was playing lights out at the end of the season. To blame coaching or game planning is not giving either team enough credit.

We lost 2 experienced guys and probably will end up better this season.

Are LSU fans the most gullible morons on the planet?

Is this how the Ben Simmons hate and then love came to be? One person posts an idiotic thought, they seemingly miraculously have, and the foolish, simpleton LSU fans latch on like they never had an original thought of their own.

Lose two experienced starters that were both drafted by NFL teams and the replacements are all of a sudden going to be even better.

This board is entertaining if nothing else. I swear if this shite wasn't so funny I would have a serious headache right now. I may get one from laughing so hard. Good job guys.

Read option seemed to be the theme of the game, and it was not working. The power sets the Rant hates so much was the best thing they did all game.

They also have one of the best single pass rushers in the country. Deatrich Wise Jr fricked us that game cause we had a poor pass blocking tackle... So while I agree that we won't take a step back in pass blocking by losing Vadal, we will if we are replacing him with Teuhema. I just do not understand that decision. I love him as a guard and a run blocker, but as your LT? If he lines up in the fourth game of the season against a healthy Carl Lawson @ Auburn, that game will be much closer than it should be. Lawson will dominate Teuhema.

Our pass blocking is likely to suck once again.

Vadal was a huge liability as a pass protector.

This is my concern with moving Teuhema outside to LT. Will he have the footwork to play tackle and more so LT where he will be protecting Harris's backside.

Maybe the offensive line really wasn't that good after all?

It was fairly good at run blocking against weak defenses. Pass blocking was pure shite from day one and never got better. Run blocking was also shite against anyone with a pulse other than Florida, and even in that game it wasn't lights out.

Against Arkansas LSU needed a competent passing game to go along with Fournette and Guice and they just did not have it. Miles squandered opportunities earlier in the season to develop the passing game mainly because Fournete was breaking 60,70 & 80 yard runs. Running the ball played into Arkansas one defensive strength, whereas throwing the ball in a dink and dunk manner was a huge weakness for LSU. We can play the long ball all day long with Dupre and Dural

Our OL could be great and Harris will still struggle.

Yes, the truth hurts.

PS: If we lose to the Gumps, Miles is gone.

Let the downvotes commence.

Has anyone ever noticed how far back we drop Harris. Even in the gun he takes drops. It makes it really difficult on the tackles because the DEs basically have a straight line the QB.

I'm not blaming Harris. It's a scheme thing.

Yes, it's a coaching issue. Guess who it is.

His name rhymes with piles.

Why, do you think anyone on this board really cares about you opinion? I don't. Miles will be the coach of LSU as long as he wants to be.

If you don't care about my opinion, that's on you.

Like I said, LSU doesn't beat Bama, Piles is gone.

I re-watched it last week and I thought the same thing about the offensive line. I think KJ was at tackle and that didn't go well. Even EP struggled.
