Sark throwing money at CR is him paying homage to Sabia for hiring him. You scratch my arse, I'll scratch yours...
Sure, Texas would get the top DB Coach/Recruiter around but this benefits the head Gump even more by removing a major strength from a dangerous rival.
Unless CR really wanted the DC job and UT flings stupid cash I can't see him making a parallel move to work for a new hire.
Thoughts?

No. It’s the fact that CCR is regarded as one of the best db coaches in the country. You get a big job with big money behind you, why not kick the tires and see if there’s interest? It hurts no one. CR probably gets another raise and UT moves to the next guy down the list.

This may be true if nick saban thinks about LSU as much as you think about him

He’s had about 6 offers to leave and remains at LSU. I do think they will throw something big at him but I still am confident he’s LSU loyal

If you can't get Freeman, Leonhard or whatever target, make Raymond DC!!!

Worth pointing out that every year there is something about Raymond leaving.

Usually right before ESD.

But many years he doesn't even interview with somebody and yet the rumors persist and then magically disappear once recruiting for that years class is over.

Rinse and repeat the next year.

I’m just amazed you got two people to go along with this.

He already shot it down according to Dandy Dons report this morning. I suggest reading Dandy Don everyday.

This logic makes no sense. “You must hire the top coordinator in the country or higher a position coach already on staff!”

Maybe try something in the middle?

O.K.
If CR were to leave LSU---to go anywhere---would that help Bama? Yes or No.
Not--"it would depend on who they hire" etc... Just yes or no?

Of course it would. That doesn't mean it is the primary reason that Sark reached out to him. It could simply mean that CR is one of (if not the best) DB coaches in the country and Sark wants him on his staff.

Also Sark will want to compete for national championships at Texas. So why on Earth would he want to help Bama get stronger. The world does not revolve around the Gumps.
