If you look at the number of people who have transferred into the program (via JUCO or just transferring), it far outnumbers those who have left. This i would imagine is rare for the first 1.5 years under a head coach that didn’t come from another school. What does this say about our program?

Since last spring transferred out:

TE Caleb Roddy
CB Xavier Lewis
EDGE Sci Martin
QB Caleb Lewis
OL Seth Stewart
FB Bry’Kiethon Mouton

Transfers eligible this year:
WR Jonathon Giles (Transfer)
DE Breiden Fehoko (Transfer)
QB Joe Burrow (Graduate Transfer)
K Cole Tracy (Graduate Transfer)
CB Terrence Alexander (Graduate Transfer)
OLB Travez Moore (JUCO)
OL Badara Traore (JUCO)
OL Damien Lewis (JUCO)

Let me know if I missed anyone. But I would much rather take the bottom group than the top

I’m still looking for the stats on LSU and they’re hard to find. Much less other schools...

Then what's the point of the thread if you can't even find the numbers for LSU? I'd guess most bigger programs have more guys leave for playing time than transfer in. Most of our players are leaving for non P5 programs. How many guys do you see transferring to Alabama? Not many. I'd say if you're having a lot of guys transfer to your school every year, you probably aren't doing something right recruiting to have scholarships available for them.

From those numbers it looks like your entire original premise is backwards

But it could be from lack of roster management. But I would argue some of those who have come are better than the recruiting misses or transfers

Just with less years of course

The only painful loss in that bunch is Xavier Lewis, but even he wasn’t setting the world on fire, just hurt depth

I agree. We gained much better players than we lost

That's correct because no one is perfect nor can anyone tell who will be good, marginal or a bust. Transfers fill gaps that happen in all leagues. For Example:

Raiders- Let's take for instance Jamarcus Russell- How did that work out? Lazy MF got huge well over 300 lb for a QB...lol

While on the Raiders- Todd Marinovich, drug problem, crystal met, coke, etc... then arrested.

Rams- Laurance Phillips beat up his girlfriends, huge character issues and even with all that talent, did not adjust to the Pro game

Panthers- Ray Carruth- Had his girlfriend shot, she died!! Need I say more

Seattle- Watch it Bosworth, Bo Jackson will inflict pain on you. He was arrested for Steroids, should have been a sign

Browns- Tim Couch, the man who was a can't miss and savior to the new Cleveland Browns. Not.... he liked HGH too much and still that did not make him good.

Tony Mandarich- Green Bay, Attitude and Drugs with a big Ego, and the real NFL players made him into a big Puss.

Ryan Leaf- Oh San Diego tried to draft up for Manning, but they got the second best QB in the draft... cough cough. His first year 2 TD and 15 INT. Ouch

So all these Pro teams got it wrong but LSU cannot? No one is perfect, and ALL teams in Div 1 College and Pro Football make bad picks or don't recruit perfectly, and need to get transfers in college or free agency in pro football.

Alabama is the exception because they seem to always have too many, let some go and will make it up the next year when they load up with 7-5 stars, 15-4 stars, and 3-3 stars

With the hard caps in recruiting numbers, we will see this more often throughout college football since kids either get kicked off or transfer out . You have to be at 85 or as close as possible

IMO, it means Miles and Orgeron disagree on what kind of players it takes to win. Let's hope O is correct and the new hires are able to coach those guys up.

If for nothing other than depth we'll probably miss him, but besides that I'm with you.

Seth Stewart didn't transfer out, he spent two days on campus and decided to quit football.

You forgot Savion Smith, Willie Allen, Maea Teuhama, and Andy Dodd.
