I think the buyout keeps him safe for all of 2018

I agree. I think anything better than a total meltdown (like 5-7) and O is back in 2019.

If it happens you'll see Alleva get canned first.

The buyout is a perception issue, not a real financial matter. The buyout would NOT be an issue at TAM, Bama, UF, Auburn, or UGA.

O is really just the default choice in the SEC.

Alabama and Georgia aren't making any changes
Auburn just doubled-down on Gus
Arkansas, A&M, Florida, Miss. St., Tenn. all have first year coaches
Ole Miss is lucky to have a coach
Mizzou, Kentucky, Vandy, and South Carolina don't care enough to make rash decisions.

IMO, O is safe as long as the current LSU administration is in place. Alleva isn't firing "his guy" after just 2 years and F.King isn't committed to fielding a great athletic dept. He's too busy telling LSU's potential "customers" how broke-dick a school he's running.

It will take a major regime change to shake things up. A competent regime would not have hired Ogeron in the first place. This group of knuckleheads sure as hell aren't going to change their mind on a decision they collectively made just two years ago.

This alone is reason enough to FIRE ALLEVA now!

Texas A&M could go 0-12 ....2 years in a row...... they are not buying Jimbo out anytime soon.

They just paid $10m in a single payout to Summlin to hire Jimbo. And they didn’t hire the worse coach in OM history only to have the AD bid against himself with a moronic buyout.

They hired a proven winner. LSU hired a PROVEN loser.

Can’t fix stupid.

Correct. The buyout would be $5.2 million if Orgeron was fired around Thanksgiving, with only $2 million up front by the end of January. After that it’s monthly installments.

None of those amounts will save O if he needs to go.

It's almost like people think O has no business running a major program.

Sadly you are 100% correct and the O fan club knows this and loves it. When I say O fan club I'm talking about fans of O and not LSU because there are quite a few due to O being from south Louisiana.

A competent regime would have never fired Miles only to turn around and hire a position coach already on his staff and then allow another position coach that's been on staff to take over the biggest weakness of the entire program. Hollywood couldn't have written a comedy like this if they tried.

You're correct. Our only hope is big donors put pressure on the BOS and/or FKA feels his job is in jeopardy

Orgeron wouldn't be fired until after final regular season game and his buyout is substantially less by then, correct?

Lol the government knows better than to force a bad LSU HC.

The next election will be in 2019?
Would you want to block the firing of an LSU coach and then run your election while the 2019 season is going on?

I think we all should know that Coach O will be hanging by a thread if he wins 8 or less this yr.
God bless him if he has another Troy like moment.

If LSU begins to take a hit in the wallet, as some reports already seem to imply, JA will be showed the door. imo
