Hey didn’t Woody hire that funny little fat guy that apparently never got the memo that you don’t have to wear a tie anymore who coaches eATMe?? That cat appears to be doing fairly well. Maybe McMahon can coach softball so at least we can have him do something or next step is to call DOGE and get Elon down here.

P.S. hypothetically let’s say Woody and McMahon get Elon’s email saying list 5 things they’ve done in the previous 10 days???? Any idea what they might list??

Yes. McMahon was seen as a good hire. He’s also hired Johnson, Mulkey and Kelly. Kelly is poised for a very big year and the other two programs are elite. There are no ADs batting a thousand, even the greatest.

Yeah. Even though it's now known and someone has quoted you stating his name, I'd suggest editing your posts to remove his name.

Based on your limited story, he seemed like he had a genuine, friendly remark to a fellow tiger fan - not a statement from his official position. Do him a favor and remove his name from the posts.

Edit - looks like you did remove his name. Kudos to you. Hopefully the others quoting his name will too.

And thanks for sharing your post. It was a good post and appreciated. Just make sure to reasonably protect your sources.

Yeah….. that was poor judgement to even look up and say…..Guy said nothing wrong and nothing major. Obviously just cared about LSU and hated seeing what had just happened.

I don’t think Woodward is blind to the futility. He quickly let go of coaches (Fargas, Mainieri, Orgeron) with FAR more past success at LSU very quickly once their programs declined. I genuinely believe they just don’t have the funds to eat the 4 year buyout right now because they went all-in with the donors to make a big push for this upcoming football season.

But that also means they don’t have the funds for an “increased NIL commitment” either (at least to any relevant degree). Because if they did, they would have the funds to pay a buyout

McMahon had a good team at Murray State 2 years after Ja left.

He’s just in over his head at this level.

We know the NIL thing is BS. We know MMs reporting was false and we know that our lowballed 1.5million falls right within the average of what P4 tourney teams spend. St. John’s is a top 5 team and only spent 500k more than us. Now that is more but the difference between a popular final 4 pick and a 3 win team isn’t 500k, it’s the coach.

Those weren’t his hires. That’s a big difference in his eyes.

He’s not blind, but he also has no interest in admitting this was a colossal mistake (starting with firing Wade).

A big part of this is not being in the market for a coach with Wade available.

Instead there is a real possibility Wade is coaching a competitive team in the SEC next year and we are still hanging out in the bottom of the league.

Was Jay a good hire? Was Kelley a good hire? Was Mulkey a good hire.

When he can spend more money than most competition on the market to get P5 experienced and successful coaches, he’s pretty good. We will never do that in basketball, so he’s got to find an emerging candidate. That’s not his strength. Should have held on to the really good coach he inherited.

Not gonna repost his name, but I can assure you that he is a great guy and LOVES LSU. He is someone in the athletic department that genuinely cares A LOT about MBB. Obviously he has no say in coaching decisions, but the results are apparent regardless of who you are (unless you're mcpuff, TPK, or mmcgrath).

However, I think it's incredibly stupid to out who he was on here. You should know that TD is all about anonymity. I have had many similar experiences where I've heard things from those in the athletic department in regards to MBB that turned out to be true but I never ONCE said who I heard it from. Be smarter.

No it wasn’t. Jay was actually not even top 2. He did his research and found him.

Most Wins by an active head coach.

He still had to sell the program and future.

From hiring laborers to CEO's, it's always a crapshoot, I have respect for people have to find good employees. I did it for a long time, you think you made the perfect hire and he bombs out.

For the 4th straight season. Only 1 of those new teams wasn't complete arse and that team wasn't even close to a tournament appearance.

I predict disappointment. McMahon does not inspire confidence. I knew it from his introductory press conference that his boring timid style would eventually become a problem.
