Who do you believe he should fire to free up a paid coaching spot?

Whoever he needs to. No one should be safe.

Well there are only two people to choose from.

2021? You have to be kidding. That suggests he can suck again in 2020 and still get 2021. At that point one would have to conclude that LSU no longer cares about baseball. Just like it doesn't care about women's basketball and until recently didn't care about men's basketball either.

Fire Scott Woodward! Am I right?

The get rid of both, and Ochinko, and Gibbs and Tutko.

Burn the whole staff down. We have a video coordinator in a time where every team we play has essentially every game available streaming on the internet and we still look fricking clueless against the 4th best starter on a bottom tier Southland team.

So you've joined the bandwagon of Mainieri needing to be fired?

I don't think you've ever understood my position if you think me not liking Mainieri is something new.

It's just that 90% of the time on here, people take things so far to one side that being reasonable about the situation made it appear that I liked him.

I think saying that every single coach needs to be replaced is taking things far to one side, and is pretty unreasonable.

why do our fans say we sucked. We were disappointed, but the team did not suck.

Rabalais laid out a position that is hard to argue against

Name me a hitting coach he should hire that would be willing to come as a volunteer.

Not this ignorant post again. We pay our hitting coaches through camps and other means. Baseball camps are massive here.

We can get much better than what we’ve got.

It’s called being judged against a standard. 50+ losses in 2 years might be fantastic at, say, Purdue (I don’t know). At LSU, it’s not acceptable. Seems clear to me.

not acceptable is not the same as sucked.

Fans should learn to fairly critique if they think change is needed.

appreciate what he’s done in stabilizing the program after Laval, but it’s time for Paul to step down. Unfortunately, he won’t do so until after next season

The Smoke decline is not what we remember. The guy had one bad season, before that he had two trips to Omaha and next to last season finished first in SEC west. He just had the misfortune of following Skip.

I don’t know. Getting routinely boat raced by the likes of Southern and La Tech made this season seem worse than the Super Regional ending would normally indicate. I don’t have a problem with the way it was critiqued.

So making it to Super Regionals don’t mean anything because we lost to Southern?

I get it. You’re fine with substandard results and a clear downward trajectory for the program. Doesn’t mean everyone is.
