The initial argument for some of us when he was first hired was whether or not he could sustain a level of relatively high success. That was assuming that we would see that in 2017 (more than 9 wins (and not under any circumstance losing to a team like Troy)). The fact that this didn’t happen despite having one of the easiest of schedules in the regular season gives reasons for concern when you know that you can’t count on the schedule being easy every year.

It most certainly does, to people like you that are looking for something negative. To people like me, I realize the player limitations we had early in the year, and love how he salvaged the season. I realize people like you will never agree. Kinda like I am with PM. Just don't like him, for whatever reason.

I fuess You didn’t need a resume to get that job where you only work 50% of the time, but in society, we generally judge people ability to do a job on their past performance. People remember when you frick up.

The SEC teams we beat last year won a whopping 38% of their games played, and the only reason it's that high is we got a fluke win against Auburn.

Etling was a pretty clutch (and certainly not in any way below-average) QB for LSU.
Leading his team down the field on the final drive multiple times and putting his position to win games they trailed late was an Etling specialty. LSU lost a few games those 2 years that Etling was clutch late and his teammates and/or coaches found a way to lose despite his heroics.

Short answer... Yes with reservations...
Longer answer... to me its about trends (Wins and Loses)... I knew it was time for Miles to go when LSU's record against SEC opponents were trending downward in spite of the fact our overall record continued to be 10 or more wins a season.
Orgeron's record as a head coach (not interim...) overall is not worthy of consideration of being LSU's head coach... (I'm looking at you Alleva!) But he is so lets look at the trends.... for me the trend is not encouraging but Coach O has an opportunity to redirect the trend...
I am pulling for him to succeed!

6-2 then 9-4 including going 5-6 vs winning teams, 3-2 in 2016, 2-4 last season. Only 2 of those with 9 or more wins.
Meanwhile, we lost to a sunbelt team in Tiger Stadium. And have had at least 10 transfers at the end of 2016 and 2 QBs transfer this season along with 3 (I think) suspensions.
Still, as the season draws nigh. I hols out hope for a fine season.

Do you think that’s why we lost to arroyo, Alabama or Notre Dame?
I can Only think of 1 team player limitations are an excuse for and it’s MSU, and it still doesn’t excuse how bad the offense was.
