I'm not defending Miles' QB development at LSU, but to assume O and staff are more trustworthy in anything is silliness.

If they are all equal, they ain’t all equal cause they are all really good. They are equal cause they are all meh. If they weren’t all meh, one of the equal QBs woulda wiped the floor with Etling. No one could beat Etling, now they can’t beat out each other. It’s gonna be great

Based off what? Under LM all we needed was better qb play, not a all American or heisman candidate we just needed a qb to compete. If they were able to play two seasons with DE at qb and win game we should be fine with whatever qb plays next year

L. N. Because beating Bama requires a mobile qb

Beating Bama requires winning both the O and D lines of scrimmage, more consistently than they do.

That means achieving superior levels of player development, outstanding execution and technique, and knowing Bama better than they know themselves.

QB play is big, no question, but it is overrated and not ultimately determinative.

You first have to beat Bama up front, or you stand no chance of beating Bama, at all.

So you are more trusting of a coach with a losing SEC record than a coach with a Championship?

Based on the stats, which who knows if true, McMillan was far and away the best dual threat guy with long runs and a few long passes. Brennan was far more accurate than the others.

You can't go by the stats. It was a situational scrimmage. He probably had the easier situations. For instance, there was a blitz segment of the situational scrimmage. I doubt Brennan got that segment because he isn't mobile.

Not to mention, he might have played with the first stringers, whereas the other QBs played with the second stringers and the third stringers respectively. That information is also not being provided

Anyway, you can't base a judgment strictly on stats without looking at the situations each of the QBs faced. However, they also don't make that public.

Hence, we have no other choice but to trust the coaching staff to make a final decision at the end of the competition based on who they think is the best overall QB to lead this team.

Finally someone making sense! Which is why we are loading up in the trenches. But the 2011 national championship game is the perfect example of bad QB play which lost us the game. Our OL-DL was just as good but our QB sucked.

We still won’t beat Bama with a “pro style” qb. Need a qb with wheels to get the better of Saban.

That's a bunch of crap. Mett looked great against Bama his junior season and we win that game if the D doesn't falter in the end. It all comes down to the OL and pass protection. We've struggled there the past few years with OL placed out of position and an emphasis on a strictly power run game. Cregg has a history of being an exceptional OL coach for developing pass protection.

Giles talked about Sullivan coaching him how to beat jams and getting off the LOS vs man coverage in the SEC. All the pieces are being put in place to use a quick, short passing game to combat tougher front 7's like Bama, Auburn, GA, FL.

That's apparently the adjustment they made in the second scrimmage. I'm not saying it will work, but piecing together what I've read the last few weeks in different articles/reports, that's what I see.

If this is how the coaches are thinking, I want them all fired immediately. Just because you say he isn't mobile doesn't mean he doesn't need to practice against the blitz. It's not as if he's gonna get hit in a controlled scrimmage anyway.

I already see O panicking and shuffling qbs around before one can settle in.

Football is a game dominated by the trench (like it or not). Coach O has done a decent job with a focus on that so far. Our QB play will be greatly effected by strength of OL

I want one QB to separate themselves from the rest. The fact none have done that yet and are 'dead even' is a bit concerning to me.

I also inferred many of the same ideas. I figured Narcisse was also given limited reads and plays compared to others. I’m sure McMillan has packages that Brennan doesn’t. Just a general interpretation.

it ALL starts with accuracy. if you don't have that, there is nothing else. you can be usain bolt under center, if you cant hit your targets, its completely pointless. may the best man win.
