Watched the second half of Auburn at Georgia. Auburn was highly effective with QB reads and runs, not much over the top. Go press man with corners and go big up front with a three DT rotation. It's where LSU is deepest in talent with Whit Weeks out.

Basically a 5-1-5 approach with Benefield in the box every play. Hopefully Prince and Ross can set the edge and bring better pressure off the edge in this scheme. Dottery can handle the interior.

Baker won't like this and perhaps many of you might not either as it's a complete departure from what LSU has practiced all year, however the personnel available sometimes should dictate the scheme not the other way around.

All I know is Baker looks great against bad offenses or ones in which the quarterback is hurt.

Auburn gameplan:

QB draw to the left.

QB draw up the middle.

QB draw to the right.

Repeat.

Keys to middle I think is the only way no matter who we play.
I don’t think our team is a 3DL team since baker is not comfortable sending a blitz every single play and forcing offense to guess what’s coming from where

Kirby couldn't figure out how to slow Auburn down but I'm sure Blake will...

We just need to outscore these frickers. Don't take your foot off the gas on the offensive side.

I think you mean a 3-4, 3 true D-Linemen with Umanmielen and Ross on the line as your 2 OLBs. Give you 5 on the line and 2 off ball linebackers.

I don't disagree with this approach. The one thing that Baker cannot do is allow this Auburn qb to throw into our weak 2 deep zone. LSU must make this QB throw more than he runs against our very good man to man defense. We have to set the edges, as was said, and not let the QB, their main weapon, get outside. Make him throw to beat us and I don't think he can, if we stop the QB run game.

Agree that we should plan on the quick pass game with zone reads. But I would not pull Keys.

Next Saturday just got more exciting.

I was watching Brown run last night and cringed. Hopefully Blake comes up with a plan. Singleton is fast as lightning might be a time to give the kid more playing time and spy Brown.

It's an old 5-2 style set from the 1980's when all offenses were I-formation. However, pull the second ILB in favor of Benefield. Keep Thomas, Cooley and both CBs.

Two OLB's in Prince and Ross, with 3 DT's interior to force outside zone runs. It puts your best athletes on the field due to injury.

I don’t want to be a coach. I’d like LSU’s defensive coordinator to show up for an away game this season.

We can not play prevent on any of these next 4 games. It may work a time or two but we need to continue to apply pressure. Blake can’t be scared.
