High school big men are more times than not, volatile, and not always the immediate impact player that dominates smaller players coming from high school.

Eason is the best player on the team & Days is a Sr. I’m sure they’ll go big at some point but I can definitely see the two experienced guys starting

Reid is the starting 5 without question.

Days, Reid, Wilkinson and Eason will all play similarish minutes. Doesn't really matter who starts. They will rotate Eason and Wilkinson starting more than likely on matchups. Hard to play Eason Reid and days together against teams who play 3-4 guard lineups.

Best on the team?? And you are basing this on what? The stats of an exhibition game that you yourself didn’t even watch and was missing 3 projected starters.

I like Eason and think he will be great, but let’s chill on the “best on the team” accolade till you’ve actually seen him play in the normal lineups.

Mwani could be pivotal. If he has developed on the offensive end, they're going to really tough to defend.

I think this team will be pretty good defensively on the perimeter. Eason and Reid will have to protect the rim.

Gaines needs to stay under control. Hopefully he's been taking notes from Miller and Pinson. You don't have to be 100 mph all the time.

Eason played all last year. His tape flashes. It’s not hard to see

What I think is interesting and encouraging is that Eason was not a regular starter at Cincy yet in a good basketball league (AAC) still was 4th in blocks and offensive rebounds individually for the whole league. And I believe as with Days' long term development and Reaths' short term under Wade, he could develop an outside shot with time.

Fwiw I think the staff has had pretty good success scouting and developing guards. I think we will see good improvement from Gaines.

Eason is a difference maker. His shot has improved and he's a true Stretch 4 with excellent athleticism. I think many people in the country and LSU fans are sleeping on how good this kid is. I wouldn't be that shocked if he was 1st team all-SEC.

I think the guy that really has to earn something this year is Darius Days. His entire career he's never had anyone push him for minutes. He's been able to have bad games and pout and get into foul trouble. If he has some games that he's not mentally there, we have guys that can and will take his spot

Did I miss something? I have seen no mention of Shareef O’Neal? Is he injured again?

I think people are just reserved to the idea that we need to see O’Neal actually be healthy before we can count on him in any way. I do think he’s a difference maker if he is though and I’d love to see the kinds of combinations we could use with him in the rotation.

In his own words, he is as healthy now as he has been while at LSU.

He’s expected back before ULM game. Williams is only question mark for game 1.

Coach has said repeatedly in his press conferences, Williams is injured. There was an agreement that Williams would get a redshirt year. He still intends to redshirt. However, yesterday he stated Williams is almost recovered from his injury, and believes he would be willing to give up the redshirt, if injuries to other guards created a need for him to play now.

Unless he is much improved in the off season, I don’t see how Days plays the 3. It will be a struggle offensively if there are only 2 capable ball handlers in the lineup. Wilkinson fits in this category as well so it may be Gaines who gets the start.

Shareef may be saying that; but Wade has said differently as far as his availability.

Wade has said 2-3 times just in the past 2 weeks that Shareef was still having issues and that he hasn't been practicing, although he was further along than Williams. He only started running again at the end of last week and was supposed to start practicing sometime this week. He won't be playing in the ULM game unless he just happens to get in at the end of a blow out. IF he can stay healthy, then you maybe see him start to get in the rotation sometime around Thanksgiving games or shortly there after.

I'm not at all understanding the Days hate all of a sudden. I mean another poster in here talked about him "pouting" in the past, which I've never seen that from him and he has always been a great teammate and player on this team.

As for his performances in the past vs what he could do this year, why don't some of y'all just wait and see to judge. He was never needed in the past to be some star player or needed to create his own shot due to the players he had around him.

If Gaines were to happen to start, it would be Murray that would be pushed out of the lineup, not Mwani or Eason, whichever plays the 3. But I don't really see that happening anyway, as I think Murray will start at the 2.

But there is no way you can have all 3 of your guards (Pinson, Gaines, Murray) starting a game together. Maybe you see them finish a game together depending on the team they are playing and how tough of a defensive pressure team they are; but I highly doubt you see them start together.

Even when Shareef played last year, he was ineffective and got pushed around a bunch. If he's still that same player, no way he makes the rotation. Maybe he's improved though
