Vitello was also named National Coach of the Year by Perfect Game on Friday, making him the first coach in program history to earn coach of the year honors from two separate organizations.

You need to get use to the idea that Vitello isn’t coming here

Tennessee's athletics dept hasn't exactly been great over the last decade or so. Absent a good year by the basketball team in 18-19, they've been largely irrelevant on the national stage...until this season with the baseball team. That being the case, they are going to pay Vitello whatever it takes to stay there and keep the program relevant. The athletic dept needs SOMETHING to hang their hat on.

Wait a second. They name the College Baseball Coach of the Year award after a guy that never won the College World Series in 40 years in a state with as much talent as any in the nation?

Ding ding

They’d commit to building a new ballpark before letting him walk to an sec member.

Helps to be nice to the media. Being nice to the media can smooth over a lot of underachievement.

I understand that Tony V is pissed at Tennessee because they will build a new baseball stadium but it's going to be OFF campus, Tony wants it ON campus. Something to watch.
