Come out in man to man, when we get to the 10 minute mark, when it's Tremont/Skylar/Marlon/Emmitt/Javonte, put the press on and run them out the gym. Go into halftime up 20 instead of 7.

Some of the stats are wrong. Several defensive categories are identical for both teams, which I'm sure isn't accurate.

I misread that as 11:40PM and thought I've heard of late games, but that's a little later.

Feel free to go to teamrankings.com and look yourself.
Also, Yale’s stats adjusted after their matchup with Harvard so I will adjust everything in a bit

I think LSU can make a decent run and being in Jacksonville is nice too.
I thought for sure they would have sent LSU out west somewhere where it's hard to adjust. At least they didn't send them to Salt Lake or somewhere where altitude comes into play.

If the players have ANY pride, they will blow the brakes off of Yale. Virtually every analyst is picking Yale because everyone is ready just to write LSU off.
Fact is, Florida is a bad matchup for us, Florida's season was on the line, LSU was virtually playing for nothing, and it seemed like the entire SEC was against us. Usually the favorite to be a Cinderella team is not a Cinderella team because those teams usually get trounced in the first round. Hope that's the case here

In spite of all that we still had a 13 point lead and were crushing them. Lesson is you can’t switch off this time of year. Go back to those Houston and FSU games. 40 minutes of the same intensity and more if necessary. If we get by them round 2 will be tough.

If that pride translates into focus (particularly on the defensive end), then LSU should win. However, this team is maddening in their ability to completely lose focus at points during the game.
LSU was in complete control of the game on Friday. At the 14 minute mark in the second half they are up 10 and operating pretty efficiently. Then Waters inexplicably forgets what he is doing and just lazily throws the ball away for a runout dunk. LSU then turns the ball over 3 out of the next 5 possessions and Florida hits their next 6 FG attempts to completely erase all of LSU's good work over the first 25 minutes. Now following that, LSU does what LSU has done all season, the lock in and keep the game tight.
But then the lack of focus kills LSU once more. Waters takes, and misses, an unnecessarily difficult 3 with LSU down only 1. The next possession he comes down and inexplicably allows the ball to roll right into a UF defender's hands only to luckily get bailed out by the possession arrow. The on the final shot, he's in decent guarding position, only to leave his man to help inside (no doubt thinking a steal may be possible). UF kicks it out and the rest is history......
If they can play a focused game with everyone simply doing their job, they are tough to beat. But if they decide to freelance and try to make the unnecessary play, they will get beat. I think that's where missing Wade comes in. He's not afraid to completely lose his shite when the play gets sloppy. Benford is hesitant because there is no real "captain" of the ship right now.

Tre did some incredibly dumb shite in that game. I dont understand why he seems to just forget that he's playing at a high level consistently. I like Tre, but I still would like to see Smart with the ball in his hands at the end. Tre has so much confidence that it sometimes is detrimental

Thank you for the analysis. Good job.

Yes. The "March Madness" app allows you to stream every game. You can also go to NCAA.com to watch every game.

Good answer Alt. I’ll probably add it to the title

It will be interesting to see how this team plays.
Most of what we saw against Fla, was what we've seen all year long. When we focus, we can beat any team in the country. When we don't we look terrible.
Tre is the main key. When he wants to he can take over a game. But, then he will just make you wonder WTF you just witnessed. The end of Fla game being an example.
If they can lock in and take care of the 1st 2 games, "Boot Up". This team seems to take their game to a new level when the challenge gets real. You saw it in the Ky and Tn games, you also so it when things get tight against lesser teams.
It sure was great sitting around yesterday to see where we would be seeded

I've sen Yale play several times this year. They are pretty good

The best comparison in terms of teams LSU played this year is probably Tennessee. No, Yale doesn't have the athletes that Tennessee brings to the table, or the depth. But in many respects they play the same way. Yale has guys who can shoot the 3, but they do much of their damage inside the arc. They ball screen you, back screen you and backcut you to death. This isn't necessarily an Auburn team who likes to come down and bomb you with 3's. LSU is going to have to be locked in defensively
