He's played really well against just about everybody. I'm really interested to how Mickey plays. Even with Hornsby's hot hand on the outside right now, it's going to take a great night from M&M for us to win this one. Sounds like State is going to hit shots on the outside so a dominant performance on the boards on both sides of the floor is huge for us.

Pretty even matchup imo. If the good LSU team shows up I think they win.

Oh, here's the 2015 regular season highlight video for NC State if you give any fricks. It shows all our players in action so its a decent scouting tool. Just remember that is HIGHlights after all.

Youtube

You can add it to OP if you care SoS. Its a pretty well made vid.

Excellent preview. It is going to be a tough opening game.

I'm not a big basketball Xs and Os guy and never formally played the game. What type of game do teams like Auburn and TXAM play that give us fits? If not mistaken we were 1 out of 5 against these teams who rarely beat anyone with a pulse, except us. Or simply our team playing down to the opponent?

I feel like this team really needs to play with emotion to play their best basketball. They seem to strive on feeling like the underdog. They play better in that role. Luckily they will be in that role for the remainder of their season...

Washington actually shoots 50% from three, though he's only attempted 12 or so this year

This is the type team LSU usually beats. I doubt LSU will be a favorite in any remaining games and I cannot see them beating 3 or 4 good teams in a row. They can win this one if Mickey steps up and two or three of the four guards play well. If Martin is on his game and Mickey doesn't do much but rebound, the Tigers will need three of the guards to do well.

I wouldn't be shocked if LSU won by 20 or lost by 20

There's no telling which fricking team shows up for us.

Yep, box of chocolates. If the good LSU shows up, think we can make Sweet 16.

First post here by this NC State fan (and graduate).

It's funny how similar our fan bases are talking about this game... "if we bring our "A" game, we should win."

It seems like we're all just hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. And I don't think either of us thinks the other is a pushover. I know I'm more scared of THIS game than the Nova match-up that surely will follow it on Saturday. I think some of you feel the same way.

Anyway, cheers! Hope both our teams play the best they can play and we both have an entertaining game, with one winning on a late basket.

So you guys don't feel too bad afterward. Heh heh! :)

Those guys did a good job (particularly TAMU and state) of scheming vs Mickey plus what South said

Have you watched LSU this year? They rarely blow anyone out. On the contrary, they almost never get blown out (only one double-digit loss all year)

I don't know who wins this game, but I will be shocked if it is anything other than a close game.

6 of our 11 SEC wins were won by blowout or very comfortable fashion without the game ever being in serious doubt.

Let's just hope the Tennessee game was an anomaly

These two teams are perfect for each other. Both have really, good wins. Yet both have several clunkers.

Whatever happens, after the game we all can say, "Just as I expected."

I only count 4: Florida #1, Tennessee #1, Alabama, and Ole Miss #2.
