Yeah, don't sleep on clark. It's going to be a battle after this year for the QB job. Dude threw a 70 yard td last year. And that's 70 in the air.

In hisfirst interview after signing (iirc, to Preston Guy, ironically), Clark said the furthest he ever threw was 83 yards playing around after practice.

Preston did not consult the Rant on this comment... the Rant Fantasy League Coaches Association all agreed that his balls were all short and would be picked off!! LOL

I think Clark will be a stud and will be the change of pace QB that Kiffin likes to bring in throughout games
Forgive my ignorance, but does he really do this? I haven’t noticed taking the starter out much. Did he do this with Corral, Dart, and Simmons (before he got hurt and Chambliss started)?

Yes, in 2024, Dart started the UGA game horribly and 3rd series put Simmons in and he went 6/6 on a TD drive. He even puts 2 QBs on the field at the same time.

He will also put a DT at wildcat QB like he did a few years back.

To my knowledge, he never tried this stuff vs LSU though

Gotcha, so it’s more of a game flow thing than planned scheme to use multiple QBs.

Obviously leaving out when the game is in hand and you want to get the youngins some reps.

not to be contrarian, but in every clip i've seen of leavitt this spring i'd argue this description is an over exaggeration

Power hour Carter had his trainer on as a guest. Great interview. He said during one of his camps he would have them throw a football for max distance. He mentioned that players that couldn't throw a certain distance would tell him the realistic chance they would have playing for a D-1 team. Then clark threw the 83 yard pass with no extra steps.

Found the interview. Makes you want to run through a brick wall. This kid should be the backup. I know Longstreet was a five star. But Clark has that confidence in himself.

You know how many other QB rooms Preston has seen? Zero. So how does he know this?

I now remember seeing that during the portal frenzy and getting so hyped about Clark's potential (and got hyped again, btw, rewatching it). What I missed and/or forgot, was the the trainer mentioning Clark's 4.4 laser-timed 40 yard speed. 80+ yard arm strength, 4.4 speed and a coaching sponge? I can't wait to see his progression!

The trainer also mentioned he already got an "invite to the Spring Game." Since there has been buzz about there not being spring game this year as Kiffin historically likes to hide his shiny backup gems from future portal pirates, I am now wondering if there will actually be a spring game that just hasn't been announced yet, or if the invite was erroneously made by a staff member who presumed there will be a game for the fans.

I’m going to be rooting big for Clark.

One of those easy to root for small town small school overlooked guys that had to play both ways so never really polished and focused until now and earned a spot to the big show

May not be this season but I think he has that star potential and is the kind of guy the portal should be about

Now we know who Preston is now. I’m bookmarking this. Some of these podcasts are parochial at best.

There were a lot of teams trying to get him. This kid is another example of betting on yourself. And exactly the type of QB that fits into the mold that lane loves.

Dirt Booger I was at family day practice yesterday too. You must have been watching the little kids on the side lines throwing the football.
Some of the passes were not perfect but overall the looked pretty good.
