Press Conferences Dominate LSU Takeover Day

I was wondering what the SEC Network would find from last year to show for our takeover day. I was jokingly saying that maybe they can show Kiffin and Wade's introductory press conferences. Sure enough, that is what we are going to get.
At least we have something positive.

Watching now, first time watching Wade’s PC. He is fired up to be here and absolutely loves LSU
Crazy we went from BK/McMahon to Kiffin/Wade.

LSU Day was sad. Only football game was at 2 in the morning. Baseball game was first rd of the SEC tourney. Got back to back press conferences in prime time. Never again.

It’s an indictment on Woodward’s Legacy

not like there was a couple recent baseball national titles they could have shown.

You hear all the time about a coach loving the place they coach at. Wade could have stayed at NC State and build their program. But as soon as he got the call, didn't hesitate for a second and jumped on that play lickity split.
From what he said, the deal got made fast and was out the door. Someone called this way before it happened and he got rediculed. Everyone was saying no way in hell it would happen. I didn't think it would either. But so happy to be wrong.

Kiffin keeps mentioning the other three jobs he was considering. I know that Florida and Ole Miss were two. I forgot who the other one was. ???

Florida State. A very clandestine attempt on their part.

I could see both. He'd been in LA before, and if UCLA decided to get serious with their new Big 10 money they could make an impact.
Florida State showed a couple years ago, they could still make a run.
I also see why they didn't make the final cut.

We handed the eventual national champions their final loss of the year. If this were ATM or Ole Miss a monument would be erected in honor of this!

When the school literally remakes not just its athletic department, but overall administration, in part, because you...you take the job when offered. That is EXACTLY what happened. Here's the abridged timeline:
February 2025 - LSU basketball sucks and some powerful donors/people with public influence want Wade to be hired back from McNeese. The (then) LSU President and AD refuse to consider the push/demand. That makes them "enemies" of powerful people.
July 2025 - LSU President takes the Rutgers job. It's wasn't out of a desire to move to NJ. He was being pushed out, in part, because of his refusal to consider rehiring Wade
October 2025 - AD's and football HC's relationship collapses quickly after the bad A&M loss. Tempers flare, powerful politicos get involved, HC with a BIG buyout gets fired. People with political and monetary influence see it as an opportunity to ax the AD...they do.
November 2025 - interim AD becomes permanent with the very clear understanding that he is a "yes man" to the political/monetary influence.
November 2025 - The Governor's personal choice, the McNeese President, is hired by LSU to fill that role.
Jan. - March 2026 - LSU basketball sucks, again! The same people who wanted the HC replaced with Wade the year before are still involved with LSU. The people who blocked that push are not.
February 2026- Governor appoints the biggest Wade supporter on the LSU BOS the new chairman of the BOS
March 2026 - LSU's president hires McNeese AD (a friend of Wade's) to take a role in the LSU athletic dept. There was a VERY specific reason for that hire.
March 2026 - Wade is hired.

The only people who said "no way in hell it would happen" were the ones not paying attention or (my apologies) lacked deductive reasoning skills. The dominos were falling in place for MONTHS to lead to the inevitable rehiring of Wade. It was arguably the most transparent coaching move in modern LSU history.
