Drove by it today just to see it in person and it looks amazing. Our place is looking sick.

There is something precious in a tradition. These players play on the same surface as Cannon and Casanova.
Lolwut? Its not like its the same grass they played on. Turf would be just as much as the same surface as the grass is now. The field has been great the last few years, but with the expansion of the stadium, will the grass get enough light?

anybody know if the chain link fence on top of the bowl will be getting replaced?
Posted on 5/9/12 at 5:39 pm to Daigeaux
Already has been. Look at the pics.

Wouldn't surprise me but not sure.

Yeah the fence around the top of the bowl is gone. Just walked by the stadium a few minutes ago and it's astonishing how much better it looks in person.

Couldnt tell by the pics...I wasn't talking about the fencing in between the arches. I was talking about the fence that goes around the top of the bowl. But my question was answered. Now my next question is, what are they replacing it with, wrought iron?

but dont take out the asbestos, right?
Students lived in there for decades with no ill effects, a semester is much longer than a few hours one night. The danger of inert asbestos and the need for removal is one of the larger hoaxes in American society.

No but it will match the fence installed around the field prior to last season.

Isn't that wrought iron, no?

Humidity had its way with the floor tiles. People walking through there over the years have basically ground the tiles into powder that is airborne and on every surface. Same for lead paint. It isn't a healthy place to be.

I am pretty sure it is painted aluminum. Definitely not wrought iron.

I don't think they will redo the dorms any time soon if ever
but if you look in this picture of the expansion, it says "future" under the upper deck.
...maybe hotel rooms?

One day, gameday condos will be inside LSU. That is the "future" part IMO and when that day comes, Tiger Stadium will truly be the most unique stadium in the country.

The stadium is looking great! I can't wait for the season to start!
As for the turf...why change to be like everyone else? The field has looked great the past couple of years. Natural is better than fakes anyday!

Thanks for the pics. Looking great.

We have experts that take care of our grass on the field. Not sure why people think they would let a little shade ruin it.
ETA: And yeah, those rooms labeled as "FUTURE" could become anything from storage and offices to condos.

Actually it is wrought iron. I personally checked this when I was at the spring game; it was as solid as it could be. However, the fencing around the field is painted aluminum. I wish they'd replace that with the iron but it's better than the other fence.
