I just explained exactly what we had last year. I don't know what to tell you bro.

So Etling was this all SEC QB? No.

Was all those 4* WRs making plays when we needed them all season? No.

Did the 5* Guice win a game or two on his own? No.

How was that OL that came back? Completely different at the end of the year.

How did that 4* Key perform last year? Average if he played at all.

How about all those 4* and 5* DLman? They played well but needed a breather and couldn't get one.

What about all those 4* and 5* LBrs? White was great but the rest were passed by freshman.

What about those 4* and 5* secondary players? Two were suspended, one left the program, and the other is possibly out this season as well. A 3* who was hungry led the charge, you know those 3* players that will sink this program.

Does it matter what those rankings say if the players aren't mature enough to handle college football? Looks like it's the highly ranked guys who are sinking the program.

So there may be more to recruiting than just numbers, you might want to know what type of individual these players are on top of their physical attributes. Takes time to see actual results from your coach.

Somehow you didn’t read where I said thinking what ever you wish is fine, normal, and understandable. I have my doubts and hopes as well.

But a fan doesn’t trashmouth the team they profess to love.

Are you saying O was the least of our worries last year? The 4 losses were all on the players? I just don’t get how all that is supposed to make us feel better about 2018.

Because our roster is being filled with competent players who know they have to actually work for what they get. You need blue collar players on your team. But if you have blue collar 4* and 5* players mixed with a whole bunch of solid 3* guys then you can build something special. What I'm saying is that we are filling the gaps now so it won't be long before its altogether and we start to win again.

My response was to someone that said we were full of talent when O took over, which is laughable. Then this other moron chimed in with this beauty "so all those top 10 rankings got us zero talent huh?" So I spelled it out for them. Rankings don't mean a damn thing if those players don't play a down of football for you or get suspended, have these blown preconceived notions of themselves, which hurt the overall team. That's what we had a team full of.

Yes we had some great players but we had huge holes at key spots that other teams could take advantage of also. You can't win big unless you have a team with quality depth everywhere and it doesn't have to be full of 5* and 4* players. LSU can get what is needed. If one of our QBs can play at an All SEC level, then this team will be very good.

So, I'm the moron? YOU said that we had ZERO talent. Then, i said a decade of top 10 classes left us zero talent.

Then in this same post you called me a moron, you said we had some great players. But, yeah, I'm the moron.

Dear Diary :

Today I posted on Tigerdroppings about my many fears and anxieties about the 2018 football season . Even though it’s February and I had nothing original to say and nothing that has not already been said a million times. Then I began to feel about my groin area in hopes of finding my penis that had retreated inside my body cavity to no avail . It was a very good day.

No, what damages the LSU brand is making a lazy weak hire and then people like you saying we can't criticize it.

There is no way after one year anyone can gauge any coach. Your certainty is bullshite.

However you have the right to criticize anything or anyone you wish. But openly criticizing something will probably damage it. If your wife walked around bad mouthing you, it would damage your marriage. If she loved you she would STFU.

quote:

He DID meddle with the offense after claiming he was going to let his coaches coach. Therefore he is a LIAR. Lying to the fanbase damages the LSU brand.

Not meddling with the offense WAS contingent upon the offense performing well. It wasn’t. If he had done nothing, you would probably be the first to condemn a hands off approach for a poorly performing offense. Fortunately the the main problem of poor line play worked itself out with experience and coaching.

No head coach should meddle in a superior offense, but every one MUST in one not operating properly.
quote:

LOSING to Troy at home damages LSU football.

Yes it does. The pain and disappointment I felt reminded me of Saban’s loss to UAB. I sat through both in Tiger Stadium.

But running around yelling and crying about either does more harm than good. I suffered through the opposing teams celebrating like a man.
quote:

As someone who follows LSU football closely and goes to all the home games, I can criticize the head coach all I want.

Damn straight you can! This is America. Just understand you’re damaging the very thing you profess to love- LSU Football. LSU Football is tied to O. That’s a fact like it or not.

So again you didn’t read what I wrote.

I will type slower this time.

I...said...a...fan...can...and...should...think...as...they...wish.
I...didn’t...accuse...you...of...trashmouthing. I...accused...tigervet89.

We have one of the most difficult schedule. It will be a rough year.

His assistants and his players think that he is an outstanding coach. I will hitch my wagon to that.

Okay I'll do one game cuz you aren't worth my time.

We are a better team than Miami. We have better players. Miami's record this season is far better than what they are. Spare me the Notre Dame comparison. They lost a ton off of their defense. There is nothing remotely frightening about their offense. Miami fans don't travel 10 minutes down the road to their own home games. It will be a home away from home field advantage. I'd argue a few more but I don't have to. So cry about it over the next 7 months. I'm feeling pretty good. Yay me

1. You listed every team that might be good as a loss. Some of those teams will suck next year. And we’ll likely beat a good team as we beat Auburn last year.

IMO this team will be better than last years team, but their record may not show it due to what appears to be a much tougher schedule.

quote:

2. The defense will be exceptionally good next year - the best since 2011, season imo

I think the front 7 will be lights out. Definitely the best we've had in a long time and should have quality depth as well. Still have a lot to make up for in the secondary losing 2 of our best CB's.

quote:

3. The offensive line will be solid.

I'm excited to see what the O line can do this year. If we can find a solid replacement for Clapp this will be LSU's 2nd most improved unit behind the DL.

quote:

4. The receivers should be a very talented group, and there is more experience there than we are credited with. Most consider number of catches to be an experience indicator, but receivers do much more than that. Drake and Sullivan are experienced, and Giles is a past starter.

I agree. Chark turned in a solid season and Gage was OK, but there is a ton of room for improvement at the WR position. IMO Giles would have been our #1 WR if he would have been eligible last year. I expect this group to be vastly superior to what we saw in 2017!

quote:

5. Maybe we will have a good QB.

Every year I say it can get much worse and I'm right, but it doesn't get any better either. I hope this is the year we finally have an offensive weapon at the most important position on the field!

IF we get good QB play we'll be 2nd in the west with 2 or 3 losses. Bama, TAMU, and possibly U Mammy.

IF the QB play is Status Quo I think we lose 4 or 5.

Based on what evidence?
A coach's record defines him, not some feel good allegiance thing.
