You’ve been shading Chase for a while. I think it’s time you start quantifying what numbers will make him slip

Which receiver in the draft has “elite” route running?

I don’t understand people saying he took a year off so he’ll be slower. He’s had all year to work on that 40 time with trained specialists. He’ll be in the 4.4s. He’ll be rusty when he gets to camp maybe but he’s had a longer prep time for the draft than almost anyone ever.

If he doesnt ace the draft then he wasted the year.

tRant is always tone deaf when it comes to the draft smh.

I don’t even think he has to “ace” it,

Let’s say he runs a sub optimal 40, but his jumps & COD measures are super, like I expect them to be. I don’t think he loses any traction.

In the LSU bubble everyone mentions how he sat out. No one realizes that Devonta Smith wouldn’t let the Sr measure or weigh him now what the hell do you think that means. Who’s going to pass him? Not sure. Have seen several well respected evaluators call him the best WR over the last 3-4 cycles

If he has good advisors. There is no reason for him to run, he skipped the whole year and is still the #1 WR in almost every mock draft

WRs without elite speed (premise of the discussion) AND without elite size (given) and without elite route running (your and my assessment) generally don't go at the top.

It blows my mind how a slow, small, shitty route runner did so well.

Nah he def needs to run bc if Smith runs a 4.3 that’ll probably bump him ahead of Ja’marr besides Ja’marr has been putting in serious training to go and show out at the combine I’d be extremely surprised if he doesn’t run.

I think that’s the one way to ensure that you drop from WR1

Smith literally had to win a Heisman while chase did NOTHING to get in the conversation with Chase.

Says a lot about how good Chase was in 2019

Les, I agreed with moneyg from a physical standpoint. Running a 4.45, which I predict he will, will show he’s plenty fast enough to be a top receiver in the NFL.

Idk, I think his route running was pretty advanced for a 19yr old. It’s not the best thing he does but I don’t think it’s a weakness.

He runs better routes than either of the Alabama guys imo.

I’d have to go back and look but it seemed like it wasn’t very advanced, and I don’t really view it as a knock. He was so good that he really didn’t have to run that many routes.

I love Chase.

I think if he runs in the 4.5s, logically I have to see him slipping.

One thing they can’t take away from him is that he got the best of all the top CB prospects that tried to cover him. That’s why if his draft floor is still pretty high.

But the NFL wants production and something that explains the production.

The most ironic thing about 40 times for WRs is that the Biletnikoff award is named after a guy who probably ran a 4.7 40 on a good day.

I would think the same thing too. But then I think about devin white running a 4.5 and how everyone said I was nuts when I said that I knew of him running 4.8 in high school and that he'd run 4.5 .
I think chase is as fast as Devin at least
