I think we lose @Clemson, @Alabama and one other SEC game and finish 9-3. I predict that will be borderline good enough for the playoffs this year too. I predict a 3 loss SEC or Big 10 team will get in this year.

With our D really taking a step up this year under Baker's second year ny expectations are high
8/30 at Clemson W and look solid doing it
9/6 Louisiana Tech W
9/13 Florida W
9/20 Southeastern W
9/27 at Ole Miss W Defense makes a statement
10/11 South Carolina W
10/18 at Vanderbilt W
10/25 Texas A&M W
11/8 at Alabama 50/50
11/15 Arkansas W (possible trap game, especially if we beat Bama)
11/22 Western Kentucky W
11/29 at Oklahoma W but closer than we like

11-1
Loss at Oklahoma after we’ve already clenched a playoff birth to ruin an otherwise perfect championship season behind Nuss (Heisman winner) and the rebirth of a nasty Tiger defense
Clemson is overrated, the team last year wasn’t great and I don’t think they make a huge step forward despite returning a bunch
Lagway and Sellers can’t hold up on the road at LSU
aTm will suck, their QB won’t sneak up on us this season
Bama behind Ty Simpson is a disappointment and the start of the end of Debours, 8-4 season incoming

I told my son in the summer of 2019 that LSU could go 8-4 or go undefeated, depending on a few breaks and how the team gels. Feeling the same way this summer.

We won't lose to Florida at home with the talent on this team. We beat Florida 6 of every 7 home games we have verse them. I think we have too much talent for them to win at night at TS. I'm like 80% sure we win that. I'm less confident in at Ole Miss. They lost most talent, but playing on road in SEC is always hard. I give LSU a 60-65% chance to win in that game.
2 losses:
40% chance to win at Clemson at night
25-30% chance to win at Bama at night.
I'd love an early kickoff for Bama game. Only times I can remember a 4:30 or earlier start time was 2010 and 2019, and we won both. 2019 they put it in early afternoon because they thought rivalry lost its heat after 2018. They missed the best game of the year that year in all CF by putting it at 4 PM. Bad predictions by CBS.

Florida is going to have to play a LOT better than they did last year to beat LSU this year. And YES, I know Florida won the game but LSU dominated the game statistically. Florida was LUCKY to win the game...pure and simple. LSU just couldn't put the ball in the end zone. LSU 25 FD Florida 13....LSU 392 TY Florida 339 including more passing and more rushing yards....less penalties...and time of possession 42 minutes to 18 minutes. LSU flat out DOMINATED the game but of course the score is all that counts. If you just control the game between the 20's and don't score enough, you lose.

A respectable 9-3 finish
A 9-3 record and another year of missing out on the playoffs, and the natives in Baton Rouge will get very restless, and rightfully so.
LSU isn't paying Brian Kelly big time money for mediocre results.

I don’t understand all the loss predictions at Ole Miss. I get it’s on the road but their roster is significantly weaker than last year including QB
They will definitely be up for the game though. I still think we win
10-2 loses at Bama and either Clemson (frick me if we lose another opener) or Oklahoma
BK has shown that he will choke a game away with hardware on the line which is why I think he loses last game vs OU for a chance to play in SECCG. 10-2 will still be enough to get us in playoff

Stared at this for the last 30 minutes, and I just can’t find a loss.

This should have been the end of the thread. The pessimism here can kiss my arse. We have a lot to be excited about this year, the only game I can see us losing is to Clemson then going unbeaten into the playoffs. AND if we played Clemson late season, I have us winning that too. Week 1 isn't the same as Week 12 at all, I'd hate to start yet another season w a loss but unlike the other years, I wouldn't even dare lose hope at a natty. This is our best team since 2019 without a doubt, it has to get done this year or were really in dark waters.

11-1 with the loss coming against, you guessed it, bama
Posted on 7/4/25 at 8:45 pm to T1gerNate
I think 10 wins is the most reasonable prediction. Dont know if we have the studs to win it all but have too much to drop below 9 IMO.

Kelly absolutely has to beat Florida. Lose that game and the Clemson game and the wheels come off. In my book, UF is the most important game of the year. It will set the tone for everything after.

Why?? Bama isn't what it was. That shipped has sailed, don't expect a loss off of a retired legacy. Were going to bama and punching them in fuggin mouth. Bet on it.
