Having gone through this myself, it isn't easy. However, I wasn't super close to my dad. Hope he makes it through.

Prayers to his family. I have known several ppl who have committed suicide. I used to be very hard on the person who does this. But as I have gotten older and gained life experience I am not so hard anymore. While it is a selfish move because of how it will impact the family. I come to realize and consider. What was this person experiencing emotionally that brought them to think that this was a good idea? Just how deeply depressed were they? The worst part is the obvious unknown questions.
