Life can be taken away in an instant. He is lucky to be in the position to be fighting for his life. I hope for a quick recovery.

One of the guys was my son. These guys have been hunting together for years, Graduated High School together. I can assure you Matt would have done the same for him. Just glad he survived the incident he is truly a great guy.

Wow. The Branches are good people. This is awful news. Hang in there and be strong, Matt.

Matt has undergone additional surgery to improve circulation. He’s still in ICU. It’s a miracle he’s alive...but he is recovering.

A GoFundMe is running on Facebook. Please consider helping his young family. His road to recovery will be lengthy.

Just wondering why the gun was still loaded once they were done hunting. Usually you unload the guns upon leaving the blind.

The safety had to have been off and everything. I just don't understand it.

Didn’t he go to West Monroe or somewhere else in Ouachita Parish? And around what time? Either way, prayers sent and hope he pulls through.

He finished up at Sterlington around 2008

Was a damn fine prospect (rivals top 250), but couldn't stay healthy.

You would be surprised how careless some folks are w guns.

They imagine how it works when things go right. The safer hunters try to imagine every possible way it could go to hell if something weird happens

That said, I know nothing about what happened. And it does t change a thing about the outcome. I pray Matt recovers and lives a long healthy productive life.
